Pro-Impeachment Candidates for the U.S. House, Senate, and White House in 2008

Hello Senator Feingold...

My name is Dinah Mason, I live in Santa Barbara California, but am originally from Indiana.
I received a mailer from you yesterday that listed 6 progressive candidates to support who are working to end the war in Iraq.
Out of the 6, only Keith Ellison will receive a contribution from me and here's why:
He is one of 22 Representatives who cosponsored H. Res. 333, Kucinch's Bill to Impeach Cheney. He also is one of over 90 Reps who signed the PEACE pledge letter to Bush, stating that he would not vote to fund any more money for Iraq with out a clear and definate (and binding) timeline for redeploying troops from Iraq. I will send Ellison a smaller contribution that I was going to earlier, as he was one of the 90 who signed the Peace Pledge, but voted to give Bush another blank check yesterday!
I also noticed that John Hall signed the Peace Pledge, but does not support impeachment,
Steve Kagen did not sign the Peace Pledge AND does not support impeachment (the staff I spoke to at his campaign office are all impeachment supporters and are frustrated with his position)
Patrick Murphy, like my daughter Erika is an Iraq Vet...but he not only does not support impeachment or peace, he and his staff won't return phone calls! Same with Ed Perlmutter, numerous calls, no answer... this is surprising to me since I contacted their campaign office and left messages that I want to send a contribution, but had a couple questions to ask!
Carol Shea-Porter will not get money from me...she did not cosponsor H. Res. 333 OR sign the peace pledge, but she DID do a press release stating that she was in favor of investigations of VP Cheney. I was considering sending her $ because of the press release, but then realized she is not as progressive as I thought.

I have my voter registration form filled out to re-register as DECLINE TO STATE... I still plan to vote for Dems in the Primary and will vote for a dem for prez next November as long as it's not Hillary Clinton.

Thanks for the mailer, but your choices of candidates to support is a sham!

Only one candidate, Ellison, is for Peace, ending the War and accountability, but he also caved to pressure by the dem leadership. I will only send him $20, not $50...

How long do Dems have to bash their heads on the same brick wall???... THE Only way to restore the checks and balances in our Gov and end this illegal occupation of Iraq is to Impeach Bush and Cheney. If Nancy Pelosi is not strong enough to accept stepping up as President, she needs to resign as speaker of the House and we need to get someone who is willing to step up to the plate and lead this country before it's too late!

Why isn't the MOST HONORABLE Congressman,
one of the few who is doing his job and remains honest,
NOT on this list????

Nobody deserves as much credit as he does for opposing
the Iraq GENOCIDE and TORTURE.

WHY isn't his name at the top of this list, with HONORS?!?

He won his Congressional primary yesterday in OHIO.
Thank GOODNESS there are still a few people left in
this country who haven't been rendered senseless by
Pig Pharma, the industry that killed Heath Ledger.

Why isn't the FOREMOST Impeachment candidate
on this list, with 5 stars next to his name?

He is THE war opponent and leader of the impeachment
efforts. He is THE only Presidential
candidate who has repeatedly earned my vote.

Something SMELLS here, as it does in the rest of this country,
if his name remains missing from
this, of all lists.

Congratulations, MOST HONORABLE Congressman Kucinich,
for your well-deserved Congressional Primary win in Ohio yesterday.
There are sane people in your district.

Some of those candidates say nothing about impeachment on their websites. Others support the occupation of Iraq and/or the occupation of Afghanistan and the phony war on terror. Bob Bowman isn't running for Congress this year so I don't know why he's listed.

Please add Socialist Party nominee Brian Moore to the list of presidential candidates supporting impeachment.

Thanks for the list to support impeach candidates, but for example why is a Democrat running against longtime liberal Democrat Barbara Lee (CA-9)who was the first NO vote against the war from the beginning, and always supported impeachment, and knows more than most Congresspeople about the depths of deception in this country, and always supports We The People. I hate to see a list that unknowingly encourages activists to support a candidate that is running against Lee, how can we trust such a candidate, in the long run this candidate will prove unloyal to our causes.

At a town hall meeting earlier this year, I challenged Kirsten Gillibrand on whether she would support impeachment hearings against VP Cheney. She danced around the issue effectively enough that some in the blogging community mistook her statements as supportive of impeachment. Nothing could be further from the truth. Gillibrand supports "oversight hearings" but not "impeachment hearings." On June 19, 2008, I received the below response from her confirming unequivocably her opposition to impeachment. If the sole criteria for her inclusion on this page has to do with her position on impeachment, clearly she should come off the list.

I share your concern that more must be done to address the serious issues that face our country, including expanding health care, energy independence and finding a successful exit strategy for the War in Iraq; however, at this time, I do not believe that impeachment proceedings would be productive in moving this country forward.

I believe that the new majority in Congress must continue to focus on our national priorities and put pressure on the Executive Branch to become more transparent with the American people. This Congress has - and will continue to hold - oversight hearings on all of the issues that have troubled us over the last six years, including the decision to go to war with Iraq , the use of domestic wiretaps without the benefit of warrants, and the use of no-bid contracts in both Iraq and Katrina reconstruction. These hearings will restore needed accountability our constitution requires.

I also believe that bi-partisanship is essential for enhancing our country's potential, and I will continue to team with both Democrats and Republicans to be an advocate for the residents of Upstate New York on the national level.
