I would donate to something like this but it has already raised enough for the All-Star game. At least the press and attendees will see the sign. Let us know if you need more donations for another plane sign. Thank you so much!

I live on the coast in California (Laguna Beach) and often talk with friends about the possibility of raising money to fly banners with progressive messages that advertise news sources like KLSD, KTLK, and various websites like buzzflash, bradblog, crooks and liars, etc.. We see banners (usually beer ads) flying up and down the coast every weekend. Once in awhile I've even called into talk shows with the idea hoping that someone with skills I do not possess and similar thoughts would set up a site to collect donations. And here we are ...at last. I would much rather donate money to a banner campaign than the Democratic party....(other than specific PROGRESSIVE candidates or causes).
I believe we have to bypass the mainstream media... even if it's via flying banners, and freeway blogging in order to create our own media and means of educating the public as to where they can go for the truth. I would love to see a series of bannners that say something like "STOP TV/NEWS LIES" ...read ****. We should be flying them in the midwest and west over state fairs and sporting events. The Democratic leadership needs to spend money advertising sources for progressive news. They do a terrible job of utilizing the sources we do have. What a different world we could have if people listened to Thomm Hartmann and Amy Goodman a few hours a week.
