Catapulting the Propaganda
Petraeus is headed for Fox News tonight after Congress.
The New York Times is dutifully reporting dishonest numbers.
Today's New York Times front page includes a headline on Petraeus' forthcoming decree that no troops should withdraw this year, next to this headline "Americans Feel Military Is Best at Ending the War" which adds an aura of democracy to an acceptance of fascism. Americans want out of Iraq and have given up on the idea that either the president or Congress will listen to them. Lots of military voices have prominently opposed the war. No facts justify the New York Times' juxtapositioning of headlines.
Bush's 2004 pollster now says: "The public does not see withdrawal from Iraq as a signal America doesn't support the troops. In fact, the public sees removing the troops from harm's way and having them in a place where the mission is supported, welcomed and understood as the most proper way to support our troops."
But Hill Democrats respond: "La la la I am not listening to facts la la la la la I can't hear you la la la..."
