Torture
Now that it has come to the light of day--vote against torture. Do not stop there, do something about our tax dollars sponsoring "torture universities" for some of our allies and puppet governments' personnel.
Respecfully
NO TORTURE!
we are not those kind of men.
stop the torture
Since when did americans become the bad guys? Stop the torture, please support a bill to stop torture. Let the bad guys be our enemies not us.
Stop playing with human life
I never thought I'd live under a dictatorship. It seems no matter how much pressure we, the people (ahem) apply, our president plays his role like a litte boy who plays a game...like it's his world and we're bothering him by being here.
It's unbearable to be an American and be in the same catagory with this administration. Those "heroes" we see honored on the local news were fooled by the same administration of stone-cold war criminals who continually tries to fool us.
Pull out of Iran, stop torturing people, leave us out of this. Send your own children there. Let's impeach Bush and see if he cares he cares enough after his presidency to offer himself to the (Iraqui people who love us so much and crave 'freedom'.) We crave freedom too.
Re: stop playing with human life
Well I think Ms. Radant must have written this while under the influence of one too many glasses of wine. I agree with her, but I think she needs to check her spelling and grammer.
Too much wine or should I say whine is NOT a good thing.
Such a very vain person Ms. Radant is also!!!
Torture
The United States once maintained the highest values and standards for war time conduct. Your efforts to return America to those standards is vital at this particular time in our nation's history.
Torture!
How can you look at your children and think of them being tortured and realize you are partially responsible. You are christian? I don't think so. Do the right thing. Please! It is in your hands.Youre stand on abortion is not patriotism. If you agree to torture, you are disgusting and a coward.
TORTURE AND OUR DEFINITION OF HUMANE!
MY LAST FIVE YEARS ON THIS EARTH HAVE BEEN AN AGONIZING EXPERIENCE! HAVING TO LIVE WITH THE FACT THAT BUSH AND HIS ADMINISTRATION ARE NOTHING MORE THAN THUGS,LIARS,CHICKENHAWKS,TORTURERS AND JUST CORRUPT TO THE CORE. WE NEED TO IMPEACH THE ENTIRE GROUP AND PRAY TO GOD WE NEVER HAVE LEADERSHIP PARALELL TO HITLER AGAIN! REMEMBER AMERICANS AND OUR SELF-RESPECT AND DON'T CONDONE TORTURE AND MURDER OF OUR FELLOW MAN,WOMAN,CHILD!
Anti-Torture Amendment to the Defense Appropriations Bill
Civilized nations respect human rights for EVERYBODY! If we want American POWs and captives to be treated humanely we should do the same with foreign prisoners!
Anti-Torture Amendment
Any use of torture methods is self defeating and disallowed in universal agreements.
Torture Amendment
The majority of the Senate, including 46 brave Republicans, can be proud of their demonstration of integrity displayed when they resoundingly voted their conscience and with the will of the American populace by passing Senator McCain's anti-torture amendment to prohibit inhumane treatment of prisoners 90 to 9.
Torture is not a partisan or political cause. The practice of any kind or level of torture so fully embraces the very essence of evil and all that we find abhorrent, that it dehumanizes not only the torturer and its victim, but also those who directly or tacitly endorse it. There is simply no excuse for, nor justification of any mistreatment of our fellow living creatures, period.
In direct violation of the United Nations Convention against torture & other cruel, inhuman & degrading punishment of prisoners of which we are a signatory, the Vice President of the United States of America, Richard Cheney, shamefully, is said to be exerting pressure to allow exceptions to a complete condemnation of torture.
This amendment must remain intact and unchanged so that America can stand up straight, look the world in the eye, apologize for past transgressions, and give assurance that from now on,we will return to an unwavering stand for true freedom and human dignity, not torture and deceit.
Pass the anti torture amendment
Restore our ethical position in the world
Torture
By allowing our government to torture, we are telling the world that we are no better than the terrorists. If we want to regain respect from the international community, we must stop this heinous practice immediately.
enough is enough Be Fair or l
enough is enough Be Fair or lose your JOB
WE DO NOT TORTURE
I suggest that a few of my prime graduates from the School of the Americas be allowed to practice their "no torture" techniques on Porter Goss and Dick Cheney, those draft evading chicken -hawks might like to see what a Makita to the head could bring out of them,we might even see who financed and planned our happy little "exercise" known as 9/11.
*Do unto others as you would
*Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Torture begets more torture. These are the methods of dictators, madmen and despots.
There is enough ill will directed towards the U.S. without antagonizing what allies we have left.
What we need is a president who is eloquent enough to speak softly and carry a big stick that is used as infrequently as possible. Strong leaders don't need to posture and throw around brave words, while sending OTHER people's children to die.
Torture
No civilized person endorses torture. This endangers our soldiers who are captured and civilians. This administration does not care what the people want and they do whatever they please using manipulation of intelligence, lies, deceit, slander and have fired numerous public officials who would not march in their steps. People are dying in this country from lack of health care. The medical institute of research reported, it is an older report, that 18,000 a year in the US are dying from lack of health care. when it comes to the American people suffering they are lazy, did not prepare for medical expenses of astronomical proportions, are stupid and have no education while at the same time outsourcing our manufacturing, cutting our infrastructure, passing bills that force the middle class and poor into a hole to fleece them of everything they have. Open borders in the US and fighting a war on terror in another is a recipe for disaster. The country is going broke so I will assume the middle class will have to forth over more local and state taxes to cover the loss in revenue due in part to the tax cuts for the wealthy as they fleece the country of every program of protection to have their wars for complete world domination. I read a report that the Iraqis were told if they did not vote that their food rations would be withheld. Democracy , where?
Stop the torture; make laws to stop the torture. Be American.
Stop letting Cornfeld and Co. go against Geneva Convention laws. stop the torture. Send Cheney home--the pro-torture VP.
No torture
Civilized nations respect human rights for EVERYBODY! If we want American POWs and captives to be treated humanely we should do the same with foreign prisoners!
support the anti-torture amendment
We need to clean up our national actions and vote to disallow torture of prisoners. This behavior is un_American - against whatever our country has always stood for. We have got to stop it.
Please pass the restriction
Please pass the restriction against torture no matter what it's form. No civilized peoples would approve of torture!!
Torture
George, you have become the enemy. Americans DO NOT use torture for ANY reason, period. Unless your name is George and your victim is an AMERICAN taxpayer!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Stop U.S.-sponsored torture!
Do not let the Bush administration set a new low for U.S.-sponsored immorality. Torture is not an option for civilized nations.
Torture
We have become our enemies. If we are no different in our treatment of people what difference does it make who wins the war?
Anti-torture
No torture should be invoked on any living creature ever for any reason for it it evil and very in-humane.
TOrture
We all know the argument for torture. We need the information to save life. In the other hand this is exactly what dictators say. We are American, and we live in the most democratic and most powerful nation on the face of the earth.
If we are trying to convince the world that we are guardian of the democratic society, and human rights matter, so lets act like one.
If the most powerful nation cannot find except torture to protect their people, i could find a lot of excuses for the small and helpless nation to use the same argument and torture for the name of security.
Torture
Its wrong and that's that...it needs to stop wherever it occurs...and that includes the 'civilised' USA
