WHY
Many previous presidents and vice presidents have committed one or two of the following crimes. Never before has any approached this total level of assault on the Constitution. If we do not impeach now, we never can again, and the legislative branch will not maintain power over the executive or judicial. We will be unable to end the war, stop global warming, fund education, challenge stolen elections, win elections, or accomplish any of our other goals.
Impeachable Offenses by Bush and Cheney:
Illegal spying in violation of FISA and the Fourth Amendment, openly confessed to, openly promoted in signing statements, known to involve phone calls, phone records, internet use, bank records, and observation of legal nonviolent activities.
Illegal detentions in violation of the Fourth Amendment, International law, U.S. Law, and a recent Supreme Court ruling.
Rounding up of thousands of citizens and legal residents for detention or deportation.
Torture, maintenance of secret camps, and extraordinary rendition, in violation of the Fourth Amendment, International Law, US Law, and openly promoted in signing statement and administration policy papers.
Illegal war – launched illegally under international law, launched in violation of the U.S. Constitution which requires that the Congress declare war, and launched on the basis of feloniously misleading Congress and the American public.
Use of a variety of illegal weapons.
Illegal targeting of civilians, journalists, and hospitals.
Illegal seizure of another nation's resources.
Illegal use of funds in Iraq that had been appropriated for Afghanistan.
Leaking of classified information in order to mislead the Congress and the public, and in order to punish truth tellers.
Leaking of identity of an undercover agent.
Retribution against whistleblowers.
Use of signing statements to reverse 750 laws passed by Congress.
Production of phony news reports at home and abroad.
Dereliction of duty in neglecting global warming, hurricanes, hunger, AIDS, and warnings of 9-11 attacks.
Facilitating Israel's attacks on Lebanon.
Obstruction of investigations by 9-11 Commission and Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald.
Stealing elections.
HOW
Read, print, copy, distribute, post on bulletin boards, hand out on sidewalks, these flyers. Realize that you are in a majority, and act like it.

Get impeachment bumper stickers and yard signs too.
Meet with people in your local area to work on the following. Collect signatures on a petition, and urge your town, city, or county to pass a pro-impeachment resolution and/or to put impeachment on the ballot this November. You'll be helping them boost voter turnout, and while putting something on the ballot costs a city money, so does leaving Bush president.

Urge your Congress Member to sign H. Res. 635. Even the most hopeless Republican member needs to know what you want of them. Many of them are already refusing to appear at events with Bush or Cheney.

If you live in California, Vermont, or Illinois, lobby your state government to pass the impeachment resolution that has been introduced already, and which will initiate impeachment proceedings in the U.S. House. There is nothing more important than this. If you do not live in one of these states, please help those who do.

This is all fine and dandy, but if we cannot get the legislature to move on this. For reasons unfathomable to me, democratic leaders have even announced that they won't follow up on this. State legislatures have passed impeachment resolutions, and still no action.
What can be done?
Here's what can be done...
Impeach Bush yourself! No Joke.
This is much more than just a petition.
There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.
That's where we come in. In addition to the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org, part of the movement to impeach the president, has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.
STOP WAITING FOR YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO ACT FOR YOU.
You can initiate the impeachment process yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in.

One of the reasons why Bush has not yet been impeached, is that Cheyney and his gang is holding the US hostage, threatening with "acts of terrorism", like the Oklahoma Bombing or 911. You forgot his threats prior to the last elections? - Oh well ....

this is all great information, but the two points thatstrike me as crucial are:
- We are in the majority- act like it! I am sick to death of the people in congress who disagree with george COWERING LIKE WHIPPED DOGS!
-even the most hopeless republican needs to know what you want from them... at least two prominent republicans are suggesting that if the republicans want to win in november, they need to distance themselves from george- these people will bend to the slightest pressure, yet the only feedback they get is from the feeble Bush supporters, then they support bush. We don't "waste our time" communicating with the people with (R) after their name, therefore they supprot bush. if the disapproval outweighs the approval, their tune would change. in the communications they receive, our side of the scale has no weight. we need to tip the balance.

Dear Honorable Representatives,
It appears to me that the both of you agree there is much fraud and corruption in government and the war in Iraq is based on a “false premise”, to say the least. Now spread throughout the Middle East, world war looms over our near fascist government, many believe we are under a dictatorship already.
Where you differ seems to be on the matter of impeachment. Apparently Representative Paul believes President Bush should not be impeached because the democrats brought it up first.
I don’t understand this if both of you agree the constitution has been violated.
So to help clarify your positions would you please forward hard evidence that refutes the documentary Loose Change - 2nd Edition to “We the People” and let us decide who we want in office.
Without a response from the both of you I think we can assume one of four things.
a) There is no evidence because it is true.
b) Any excuses made would surely be lame and realized by the majority.
c) You can’t find anyone to pass the buck to.
d) All of the above.

Bush and Cheney have done so much damage to this country it is time to impeach them both. Rumsfield should go too. Our gas prices are so high that people can't get to work and our economy is slipping away.

Well if you want to go "dereliction of Duty" New Orleans is a good place to start as well. He took so long to act and it's still a "hole in the ground" if you'll forgive the expression, my family won't move back until next year.
But I do take EXTREME offense at your comments about Israel. They went in to free kidnapped people and stop daily rocket attacks on women and children into residential districts. Lebanon used human shields and instigated this war just as they did in the civil war of the 70s. Murdering civilians on a regular basis is legitimate grounds for war.
