Obey to Kucinich: #$%@!!!
By Politico
Rep. Dave Obey (D-Wis.) is at it again. He’s already been captured on “YouTube” denouncing “idiot liberals” over the war.
Tuesday he went a step further. He offended some fellow Democrats with delicate ears when he used extremely strong language to attack anti-war Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), during a House Democratic caucus meeting, according to sources who were in the room.
“He cursed at him,” said Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.). “I think Mr. Obey was unfairly harsh and disrespectful."
What exactly was said is still in question. One source wasn’t sure and others wouldn’t repeat the language.
But everyone agrees that Obey said something that some folks found offensive. The Obey-Kucinich exchange came during a caucus meeting to discuss the Iraq supplemental spending bill.
Kucinich asked Obey about language dealing with privatization of Iraqi oil. Obey’s reply included some magic words, which prompted Rep. Diane E. Watson (D-Calif.) to declare that she was not attending the meeting to hear such vulgarity.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) attempted to make peace, but some still were not satisfied.
Finally, an astute observer of Congressional behavior declared that if you haven’t had a certain part of your anatomy ripped by Dave Obey, you were not a member of Congress.
Some reporters and House staff members would argue that they should have been included in that group.
Asked later whether Obey had answered his question, Kucinich smiled and said, “I’ll respond at a later date.”

Obey is what they call a "rage-aholic"
He is what they call in my business a "rage-aholic" - someone as addicted to the adrenaline rush of anger and verbal abuse as an alcoholic is to his martini or beer.
No one, Kucinich included, should take personally the ravings of a rage-aholic.
Obey is certifiable
for 40 years he's been doing this number on those he needs to "deal with" The Dems don't have morals or logic on their side when it comes to this latest Empire gambit. They need ballbusters. Obey is one. Repubs had Delay the Hammer, Dems have Obey the Chisel. George Washington warned about political parties. Loyalty to the Party, before the nation. Obey and his ilk are tired goods. We will continue suffer with them "at our service."
The wrong target
Obey should stop yelling at "idiot liberals" and start yelling at the real idiots-- The Bush Administration. Further, he should take his rage on the road to every town in his district and yell and holler about this rotten war. This "we don't have the votes to stop it" junk ain't cutting it.
Quick! Somebody send Obey an escort or something!
He obviously needs to release a little tension.
But who can blame him? The constant dodging of reality and challenge of trying to make it look like you're earning your paycheck when you're actually doing squat and violating your oath of office on a daily basis has got to be pretty exhausting.

Obey is a friend of autistics
Obey has done a LOT to "out" mercury pollution , and its cause and effect on children born with autism. He does care deeply about the issues he works on.
It pains me to see Obey displaying so much public frustration about the verbiage of bills, but at the same time it DOES show that he is emotionally involved and DOES care on a human level about what war does to real people.
On the other hand, Neocons are stoic, like they don't give a shit.
Good to know Obey has done some good
Thanks for sharing this - I didn't know. It's good to see his "bulldogness" has some usefulness for some.
