Meditation on Proposal to Accuse Bush of Abandoning the Troops By Vetoing Bills

My preferred formulation was "FUND THE WITHDRAWAL". Pay for the troops to come home. Period.

Have you considered running for office? You are smarter than the whole lot of congress combined. You would be a super asset to our country. I cannot say the number of times I have said, "No one is suggesting that we abandon any of the troops in Iraq." WE WANT TO CUT THE FUNDING FOR THE WAR AND BRING OUR SOLDIERS HOME SAFE AND SOUND. AND WE WANT TO TAKE CARE OF THEM WHEN THEY GET HERE. What is so hard to understand about that? If you commit a crime, you cannot make things better by continuing more criminal activity.

They're on both sides of the aisle. They say they don't want to abandon the troops by cutting funding, then they look the other way while thousands of them, physically and/or mentally maimed by George's illegal war of choice, are dismissed under little-known Regulation 635-200, Chapter 513 of the military separations manual, otherwise referred to as "Separation Because of Personality Disorder".

In other words, they have a "pre-existing condition" (often passed off as something that stems from childhood), which means the Veterans Administration is not required to provide them benefits after they get home, even though they may be 100% permanently disabled.

Soldiers are often convinced to agree to a 513 discharge under duplicitous circumstances. They're told it's the quickest way out and that they'll get all the benefits they need. They don't know what's really happening until it's too late.

Imagine the BILLIONS that the war whores could essentially steal from our troops over time with such a heinous scam, diverting it instead into the coffers of the war profiteers who are more than happy to keep Capitol Hill palms greased with blood money in return for the favor.

The time for political correctness is over. People need to get pissed off and get in the faces of these Capitol Hill goons and tell them nobody is buying their bullshit. They must be told in no uncertain terms that the longer they stall and do nothing, the more culpable they become as accessories to the crimes of war and crimes against our Constitution, willfully and intentionally committed by the most corrupt presidential administration in the history of our country.
