Sen. Reid Struggles for Reason to Oppose Impeachment
By David Swanson
Christiane Brown (KJFK, Reno) interviews Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in this audio clip from last week and presses him on why he admits impeachable offenses have been commited but opposes impeachment. Reid says that impeaching Bush would just give you Cheney, but Brown points out that Cheney can be impeached too (in fact, the only impeachment bill in Congress right now is to impeach Cheney). Reid says there's not enough time, but Brown points out how swift past impeachments have been. Reid struggles and fails to find a coherent explanation. LISTEN TO THE CLIP.

mealymouthed
LOL! Mealymouthed was the first word that came to mind after listening to old give 'em heck Harry. Hadn't used that word in awhile so I looked it up and found this as the example:
"a mealymouthed politician".
Harry's Tongue Was In a Vise Grip
I think AIPAC had Harry's tongue!
Reid Struggles
Like Pelosi, Reid struggles with the word "Constitution" much less knows what it's about. He certainly struggles with his oath of office which he criminally violates on a continuing basis.
Our Democracy is DEAD
Our Democracy is DEAD. Don't rely on the spineless Dems to do anything to protect or preserve our democracy or our constitution. Our country is being run by a group of greedy thieving bastards. That includes the Repukes AND the Dumbocrates who enable them. Our only hope is to show up in MASS on election day and vote for the most progressive person on the ticket. NO more corrupt lying bastards.
Stinkers Reid and Pelosi
These two "leaders" are wolves parading as sheep. They are willing accomplices for the criminal regime controlling the reins of power. There should be no doubt in the minds of progressives that we have to reclaim the Democratic party back from these neocon surrogates. They believe that their places in the hierarchy are safe, since Democratic voters have no other choice. We need to kick these useless pieces of crud out of office replacing them with people with true dedication for service to the much neglected American public.

Sen. Menendez (D-NJ) also not backing impeachment
The canned response letter I got from Sen. Menendez is that there is more "important" work to do in the Senate than impeach Cheney, such as health care reform, Iraq, and budget reform. Really? Methinks the Senator is spending too much time fund raising and collecting kickbacks to know what is really going on. Especially, since his leadership on the other issues he mentions seems to be non-existant.
I hope the people of NJ throw him out of office for not doing his job.
Remember Wellstone?
If you do, you know why fear has paralyzed the Congress.
Why Fear has Paralyzed the Congress?
Wellstone? You mean you think that Wellstone didn't die in an accident? Hmmmmmm.... You think they live under the threat of 'accidental death?' Well, if THAT'S the case, I suggest that someone with proof of this should go public and make a stink about it!
Fear Paralyzes Congress
Not only Wellstone, but what about the anthrax attacks that took place right on the heels of 9/11 and killed 6 people? In my opinion those people died at the hands of American terrorists. It was no accident the first death was some poor fellow at "The Enquirer." Why attack a tabloid unless it was to send a message that Bush & company were off limits to tabloid media's outrageous articles. Both Daschle and Leahey were anthraxed and the office buildings were closed for weeks. There has never been any serious investigation into these attacks. The FBI zeroed in on one fellow but could never get enough evidence to arrest him and has anyone heard anything about any further investigation? Let's face it folks, this bunch running the country are not only theives and liars, I firmly believe they are killers also. There has to be an explanation why Reid and Pelosi act as they do. Fear? I think so and perhaps their families have been threatened. Who knows?
The corruption of the Republican Party goes back even beyond Nixon and only now after 27 virtually uninterrupted years of rule (minus 8 years of Clinton) by R's are we really beginning to see the depth of it. If it isn't fear then how else can you explain the capitulation of the Democrats in Congress.
Oregon Independent
another mass-murderer and LIAR, Harry Reid is
another apologist for 'TREASON' AND 'WAR CRIMES' and 'MASS MURDER' this Harry Reid and most of the dinocrats in the congress and senate are.
could it be that they've been threatened by chimp by by this statement by him; "oppose me, and I'll declare MARTIAL LAW and arrest all of you and murder all of you.."
could it be that they know they have no spines to uphold their Oath of Office and do what is right?
or could it be they just don't want to say 'goodbye' to those big fat A.I.P.A.C. and Military Industrial Complex war-profiteering compies, contribution checks??
I vote for the last possibility. It's the one that bears itself out more often than anything else.
Shouldn't the question be...
Do you believe there should be a criminal investigation into the apparent underhanded dealings of the Bush administration? If so, isn't that what impeachment is?
