It's not about women

The point is that we want people who reflect our values, not just power hungry queens. If we could have Cindy Sheehan in Congress and Cynthia McKinney in the White House, it would be a wonderful day for America. But the media makes out that we should be happy to have Nancy and Hillary. Neither of those women have either morals or substance. They believe torture is OK. What sickos.

Frankly, if I have to choose between a power-mad woman and an ordinary garden variety male politician, I'll take the male.
4Peace

And that male is certainly not obama and especially not McCain

Those two can't even understand and obama is just as power hungry as the rest of the scums.

And I Will not support ralph nader due to the connections with another CFR Piece of scum michael bloomberg (who like ghouliani turned ny into disneyland).

Thank God Ron Paul's a senator again, he may have lost in 2008, but his revolution will be around forever.

We the People don't want Ron Paul- we want to DEFEAT MCCAIN

Ron Paul only wants a fascist revolution, and for all the wrong reasons .

We Need "Statesmen", Not "Politicians" ...

It never ceases to amaze me that so many people think Hillary Clinton would make a good President. Just because she's demonstrating her ambitions by staying in the Presidential race with all of the tenacity of a bulldog shouldn't earn her any kind of congratulations or commendation.

So ... she refuses to back out of the race because of the seeming juggernaut that Barack Obama has become, and her decision to yield to her ambitions has earned her the congratulations of a few people in certain political circles because she's demonstrating "vital leadership quality" and showing "courage under fire".

Yes, Barack Obama has the skeletons of his dealings with Antoin "Tony" Rezko in his closet, but Hillary Clinton -- along with her husband, Bill -- have a political mass graveyard, filled with all sorts of skeletons which are inevitably going to be unearthed, if not by Obama's campaign, then (most assuredly) by the Republicans and their shadowy right-wing offshoot groups, who will attempt to "Swift Boat" Hillary using the same tactics they were able to derail John Kerry's 2004 Presidential campaign.

Then, you've got Hillary attempting to position herself as a "voice for the voiceless", by her feeble attempt to invoke the image of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who said he would represent the "forgotten man" in his campaign for
President at the peak of the Depression in 1932. FDR made that campaign promise only after the nation had been wracked with wave after wave of public unrest, massive riots by unemployed workers in major cities across the country and acts of open rebellion, including the rebellion of the World War I veterans, known as the "Bonus Army", who descended upon Washington en masse in the last year of the Hoover Administration to demand that Congress act to help aid them and their families, who were on the verge of starvation.

But, not only do you have Hillary attempting to present herself as the female reincarnation of FDR, she has reworked her political campaign in order to convince an apolitical, ahistorical American populace that "hope" is not just a word, but depends on a fight against the corporate cartels which have been looting the nation, but here's where we have a BIG problem ... there are too many political skeletons in the Clinton Cemetary, including Whitewater, questions about where she got the money to prop up her campaign, the mysterious deaths of Vince Foster and Ron Brown, and her time on the board of directors of Wal-Mart.

How can Hillary, as President, effectively address the effects of the collapsing economy and financial system, which are hitting the vast majority of Americans with devastating force when she voted to reform the bankruptcy laws so the banks came out on the "winning" end?

She may have sharply refocused her campaign toward the economic desperation of the unemployed and the declining "middle class" in Ohio and Texas during the primaries, and the growing fears of millions that they face losing their jobs, their homes, and access to medical care, but it's still all show and no substance, because she's playing on their fears and uncertainties in the same manner Karl Rove did when he ran G.W. Bush's 2004 re-election campaign.

We need somone who accurately reflects the REAL America and its core values, and who possesses both the morals and substance in order to demonstrate true "courage under fire" and "vital leadership qualities". Unfortunately, we had such a candidate in our midst, until the oligarch-controlled MSM marginalized him out of existence. His name? Dennis Kucinich.

But Kucinich was not the only candidate

Let's not forget ron paul as well.

Thank God Ron Paul's a senator again, he may have lost in 2008, but his revolution will be around forever.

Ron Paul's face should be above theirs-his priority is $, NOT us

Ron Paul IS A FLIM-FLAM MAN , NOT A STATESMAN. Ron Paul is the BIGGEST phoney and is AGAINST impeachment now, but voted for impeachment for lying about a blowjob!
Ron Paul has more DOMESTIC "let 'me eat cake too" priorities on the domestic front that any Republican, because he's a Libertarian. The only difference between a Republican and a Libertarian , is that Republicans "let 'em cake" due to their global elitism , and Ron Paul "let's 'em eat cake" due to his domestic elitism.

Either way you slice it GOP and Libertarian Party are still ELITISTS, and are NOT statesmen or stateswomen.

What do you hear about from Kucinich? He talks about how to use government FOR the people!

What do you hear from Ron Paul ? All he talks about is dismantling the government so that the rich don't have to pay taxes anymore. Then the rest of us will have USER FEES for EVERYTHING, NO Social Security retirement, and NO SSDI /SSI for Americans with disabilities. Ron Paul is an evil king of old times, a feudal fascist, NOT a statesman!

In fact, Ron Paul's face should be ABOVE Pelosi's and Hillary's , because even they won't do the fascist evil that Ron Paul will against the American people. Hillary wants Universal Healthcare as a right FOR ALL Americans , not just a privilege for some Americans .

Both Parties are elities

And we traditional conseratives and libertarians do not take money from special interests, don't be fooled.

Hillary and Obama have taken money from special interests.

and that's why Kevin Zeese trashed them both.

See the video at.

Thank God Ron Paul's a senator again, he may have lost in 2008, but his revolution will be around forever.

I'll never be fooled by Libertarian Party again

Libertarianism is about privilege for the few, NOT rights for all. They are out to trash Constitution so that there will be a nobility in this nation as in days of old ...really old, like in Medieval Times. Feudalism is no better than fascism.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC>"OUT" ANTI-AMERICAN CABALS!

WE MUST DEFEAT MCCAIN!!!

But "Statesman" Can't Compete

The fate of the Paul and Kucinich Campaigns should drive that home to everyone.

So instead of concerning ourselves with who's going to win, let's realistically accept that we're going to lose and use the election as an opportunity to make a statement:

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/node/31651#comment-173803

In the last presidential election, I voted for Micheal Badnarik. I say that with pride in having fulfilled my civic duty to vote for the best candidate on the board. I never harboured any illusions that he would win.

But I never considered WASTING my vote on John Kerry.

And guess what? If I had Kerry would still have lost (even though I vote in Florida) and the CHIMP FROM HELL would still have wreaked the same havoc.

So who's vote was wasted? Don't look my way.

Is Hillary trying to stop another fascist coup d'etat ?

http://hampsteadchamber.com/A%20Southern%20Primer/hoover.htm

"....Retired Marine General Smedley Butler*, an immensely popular figure among veterans and who had become a vocal opponent of the Hoover Administration, participated in Bonus Army demonstrations and made inflammatory speeches.

He would be approached in 1933 by Fascist sympathizers in the American Legion**, who would try to involve him in an actual plot to seize power in a coup d'etat...."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Plot

"The Business Plot, the Plot Against FDR, or the White House Putsch, was a political conspiracy involving several wealthy businessmen to overthrow the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933.

Details of the matter came to light when retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler testified before a Congressional committee that a group of men had attempted to recruit him to serve as the leader of a plot and to assume and wield power once the coup was successful. Butler testified before the McCormack-Dickstein Committee in 1934.[1] In his testimony, Butler claimed that a group of several men had approached him as part of a plot to overthrow Roosevelt in a military coup. One of the alleged plotters, Gerald MacGuire, vehemently denied any such plot. In their final report, the Congressional committee supported Butler's allegations on the existence of the plot,[2] but no prosecutions or further investigations followed, and the matter was mostly forgotten.

Major General Butler claimed that the American Liberty League was the primary means of funding the plot. The main backers were the Du Pont family, as well as leaders of U.S. Steel, General Motors, Standard Oil, Chase National Bank, and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. The BBC documentary "The Whitehouse Coup"[3] alleges that Prescott Bush, father and grandfather to the 41st and 43rd US Presidents respectively, was also connected.[4]..."

Hillary Is No Smedley Butler...

Major General Smedley Butler was a man of principle who demonstrated his deep patriotism by informing Congress about the attempted fascist coup d'etat against the U.S.

Hillary Clinton is a member of a Democratic Party which has several supporters of a fascist regime among the ranks, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, who gave her blessing to the quasi-fascist CheneyBush Unitary Executive "Presidency" by taking impeachment "off the table".

So, if anyone thinks Hillary has a ghost of a chance of stopping a fascist coup d'etat against the United States, they may want to think twice, because the fascist sympathizers within the ranks of the Democratic Party won't stand for it, especially since the politicians who inhabit the party are heavily dependent upon the Anglo-Dutch fascist oligarchical bankers for their campaign funds and they're not about to bite the blood-stained hands which have fed them so well.

Sometimes I fantasize Hillary is only schmoozing AIPAC for votes

(she said naively). Her husband is a member of "Trilateral Commission" as well, so she is connected by association to the Rockefellers.
Sometimes I like to tell myself that Hillary is simply a smart politically savvy woman that knows how to MANIPULATE the currently legal (albeit slimy) lobby system to get herself into a position so that she can do what she REALLY has wanted to do all along > Universal Healthcare. Unfortunately the Good Guys, who do not take advantage of the system currently in place, finish last.
The Iraq War is in the way of her lifelong dream, so why would Hillary prolong it? I know am sounding more cynical , but what good are good intentions if they are not in office to implement them.

Maybe its not Hillary that has to change, but the slimy system itself?

WE MUST DEFEAT MCCAIN!!!

Why are we demonizing Hillary? I forgot

Seriously , people, we are setting ourselves up here by demonizing Hillary, when she very well may be OUR nominee to DEFEAT MCCAIN. She may even be the Vice President!

I can't even remember why we are against her? Because she voted wrongly regarding the Iraq War? C'mon people, a lot of us were fooled by Bush/Cheney/Rice lies and fraud, do we hold Hillary guilty forever for this BIG LIE against her in Congress and the American people?

Bush/Cheney lied to Congress, not the other way around, remember???

FOCUS PEOPLE >>> We should hold Bush/Cheney CABAL accountable for the war lies and war crimes!

Yes it is bush and cheney's war

But it's the democrats (Obama & Hillary) war also, they knew what they did and they followed, if obama was against the war from the start, why didn't he fillerbuster it to stop it, because he funded this war 25 times, he and hillary tried and they have failed.

We have killed more soliders in iraq then those people that were killed in the 11th of september, not to mention thousands of iraq civilians

Both parties have failed miserably.

We must kick both parties out of office.

Makes me so glad, I Left the democratic party last year.

Thank God Ron Paul's a senator again, he may have lost in 2008, but his revolution will be around forever.

FOCUS -- on what?

Hillary Clinton is just a power-mad woman who wants to be the first woman president of the United States. That has nothing to do with our benefit. It is all about her. I do not want her to be the first woman president of the United States. She is not a bit better than McCain. I will not vote for either of them. Cynthia McKinney stands ready to be the first black and woman president of the United States. So if you really want a woman, your prayers are answered.
4Peace

healthcare

Hillary doesn't want universal healthcare. She wants universal health INSURANCE. Hillary wants to mandate that everyone buy health insurance. Ron Paul is a con man but still isn't nearly as bad as the global elitists. A domestic elitist is less bad than a global elitist.

Hillary WORSE than McCain? No way

This is worthy of an honest debate> got facts to back that statement up?
Of course Hillary is not my first choice, not my second either, but we have to face the reality check folks, its Obama or Hillary in the White House> God help us, NOT McCain !

There is a difference between a candidate and a VIABLE candidate.

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC>"OUT" ANTI-AMERICAN CABALS!

Partisan Politics

What is this "OUR" crap? She's not our nominee, she's the Democratic Party nominee. You don't know why we we're against Hillary? I know why. She voted to authorize the invasion of Iraq and has continually voted to fund the occupation. She supports attacking Iran too. She supports the Afghanistan occupation also. She promotes aggression against Venezuela also. She votes for all legislation that takes away our civil rights and liberties. There are a million reasons not to vote for Hillary, Obama, or McCain. The Iraq war is illegal because it violates the US Constitution and the UN Charter. Bush's lies are an excuse for Congress to pretend they were deceived. The only legal basis for any country to go to war is if that country is attacked or one of its allies is attacked. The only times America has ever been attacked by a foreign country was when England attacked us in the Revolutionary war and the War of 1812 and when Japan attacked the US in World War 2.

The only people who were fooled...

...by Bush/Cheney/Rice lies and fraud, in my eyes, anyway, were those who wanted to be fooled. To me, Hillary for sure, and Obama, probably, are just the softer-guy face of the good-guy/tough-guy head of whatever the outfit is that pulls the strings in DC, and around the world.

Kucinich was the only one out there who was willing to try and hold the Bush/Cheney CABAL accountable, and I supported him as much as I could.

Now that he's not there anymore, I'm going to support Nader. I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell to get anywhere (in fact, I believe he'd drop out if he actually thought he would win), but he's the only one out there who can flush these pretenders out into the open enough to where everybody can see where they stand.

However people choose to vote is their business, and I'm not out to change anybody's mind, but I'd like to see it be perfectly clear to everybody just what their choices are.

Have an informed run-up to the election, everybody--seriously.

R Ap

I was fooled, and certainly did not want to be

How long must we browbeat people who were LIED TO? I didn't know PNAC, Downing Street Memos, Niger Yellowcake Forgeries , and Office of Special Plans existed at the time. I didn't know Dick Cheney was going down to CIA every day strong arming them to bend the intel his way. Is it really so great to prance around with chests thrust out as smarter than the average bear? It does not make the people who were fooled GUILTY of anything, it just makes the proud guilty of the deadly sin of PRIDE .

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC>"OUT" ANTI-AMERICAN CABALS!

What a crock!

You sound like a DNC mouthpiece here, Yank. Anybody who paid any attention to what Bush was about, as Governor, or anything else in his life, knew what kind of a president he would be.

I didn't know anything about the things you mention here, either, but I knew about Bush, and what he'd be like if he was elected.

If it makes you feel better to talk about PRIDE, go ahead, but to me, you sound like you're so afraid of McCain that you're blind to what Hillary would be like as president.

The only difference I can see between the two is the way they're packaged--and they're both packaged by the exact same people.

I'm not going to go up and down this thread arguing with you, Yank. If you want Hillary, go ahead and vote for her--and see what you get if she wins.

R Ap

Can't reason with someone on a fantasy ride

I have no intention of arguing with you, Roy, if you can't be reasoned with. Who said I WANT to vote for Hillary, what choices do we have? I WANT Dennis Kucinich!!! Obama, Hillary , McCain...if you vote for anyone else you are living a pipedream! Hello?

You claim to have advance knowledge about Bush, before 2000, before his WMD lies , before his fraudulent Iraq War. So are you claiming ignorance about John McCain NOW? As Pat Buchanan said on Today Show: "McCain makes Cheney look like Ghandi!"

Your alternative is throwing your vote away on an UN-VIABLE candidate for "principles"? I hate to tell you , principles don't stop wars. We are dealing with war criminals. And you want to throw your vote away on someone who cannot possibly stop McCain? In reality by throwing away your vote you ARE throwing away your REAL principles . If you are willing to concede your vote, so that McCain ends up in the Oval Office, then you are NOT serious about stopping this war!

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC>"OUT" ANTI-AMERICAN CABALS!

WE MUST DEFEAT MCCAIN!!!

I Agree That McCain Must Be Defeated, Yank...

While the necessity of defeating McCain is obvious, what's truly distressing is that neither of the professed "Democratic" Presidential candidates have any alternative to the seven-year-long quasi-fascist police we've lived in since the illegal takeover of the government by the Cheney/Bush criminal cabal.

Instead, we had the disgraceful spectacle of Hillary Clinton appearing on Saturday Night Live in a feeble attempt to humanize her image, and yet, when I saw the program, she came off as being brittle and shrill while she was straining to pass herself off as the person who would best represent the lower 80% of American family income brackets.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama makes a cowardly retreat when the American press, spurred on by the British press's relentless investigation of his connections with "Tony" Rezko, starts asking him serious questions about Rezko, instead of taking a stand and boldly telling the truth. In the process, he makes himself appear to be weak, ineffectual and cowardly; not the kind of person you'd trust to answer that 3:00 am phone call.

It's truly unfortunate that both of them are acting in such ridiculous ways, and only serving to reinforce the pervasive notion that the Presidential election season has degenerated into a perverse form of "entertainment", carefully designed to entertain, distract and divert Americans from taking direct action to confront the serious matters which face us.

During the Great Depression, Americans took direct action to confront the issues of economic deprivation head on. Hundreds of thousands of Americans willingly defied the police and took it upon themselves to move families back into the apartments where they had been evicted from, including guarding their furniture and personal belongings from scavengers and looters, and then moving the furniture and personal belongings back into the apartment.

When Americans boldly stepped forward (oftentimes at great personal risk), organized themselves and engaged in direct actions, they created a mass movement which shook up whoever was in the White House and in Congress into changing national policy on matters of war and social justice.

Americans should reject the Presidential election "circus", organize themselves and take to the streets in bold, direct action, just as Americans did during the Great Depression, if they want to see "change" occur in Washington, but sadly, they won't. Seven years of living under a quasi-fascist police state which has pandered to and exploited their fears, doubts, frustrations and nurtured and encouraged feelings of "virtous victimization" have rendered many Americans, including the lower 80% of family income brackets, into a voiceless stupor, induced by the culture of shallowness, fear and "virtuous victimization" which pours out of our TV sets, movie screens, videogame consoles and bookshelves.

NOW YOU'RE TALKIN', Stephie!!! WE Make Change!!!

BTW, have you ever considered running for office , Stephie? That was magnificent!

IMPEACH BUSHCO & RICO PNAC/AIPAC>"OUT" ANTI-AMERICAN CABALS!

WE MUST DEFEAT MCCAIN!!!

That's An Interesting Question, Yank...

Dear, sweet Yank, you asked me the following question ... "BTW, have you ever considered running for office, Stephie?"

Believe it or not ... several people have asked me that same question during the past decade or so (long story), and although running for public office sounds tempting, I'm just a bit too independent-minded for the likes of the "traditional" Democratic Party, and there's many things about the Republican Party which I find absolutely loathsome, especially the excessive use of "dirty politics" by both political parties where plenty of destructive sniping and pot shots are flung by candidates at each other, while substantive ideas are barely mentioned, if at all. The tactic of using "Jerry Springer Politics" against an opponent are destructive, and it lowers the entire tone of the campaign to the level of a fight between a couple of schoolyard bullies.

Also, I'm not exactly sure what I could bring to the table as a candidate for political office. I'm a person with disabilities who's been unemployed for several years due to a car accident (another long story), so I'm not exactly sure what kind of experience would qualify me to be a good public official.

Another thing I don't want to do is to fall into the habit of considering myself to be some self-anointed "voice for the voiceless". The problem with being a "voice for the voiceless" is that it can encourage the "voiceless" to become too heavily dependent on someone else to go out and engage in the fight for their rights. When the "voiceless" aren't taught to find and develop their own "voice", they lose the ability (and the will) to speak up and become active participants in the battle for their rights. One person -- one politician -- can't fight the battle alone; the "voiceless" must join in the fight, too.

Too many of the "voiceless" have a voice, but they don't have the self-confidence necessary to use that voice to create change. If I could do anything in the public arena, I want to teach people how to develop and use their own voice, because the power to change things for the better lies within them, and they have the ability to create the "change" which they yearn for by taking matters into their own hands and engaging in direct action which will get the attention of those in Washington.

When Americans took various courses of action during the Great Depression -- from riots, to general strikes which shut down entire cities, to relocating evicted families back into their homes -- Franklin D. Roosevelt took notice of the "forgotten man", because the "forgotten man" was out there fighting for his rights; not acting like a passive "victim" of economic deprivation waiting for the "man on the white horse" to come and save him.

This is what we need... a restoration of the "people power" which would inspire and encourage people to stop thinking that patriotism is a spectator sport, and get out there and do something constructive to reclaim ownership of the government, that's the least I can do.
