Rep. Kucinich to Comply With Stop-Loss Order and Remain at Desk Until Occupation of Iraq Ended
A wide coalition of Iraq Vets, College students, and veteran activists; Members of STOP-LOSS CONGRESS, OurSpringBreak, Code Pink, IVAW, and VFP, today served Rep. Dennis Kucinich with a STOP-LOSS ORDER in his Congressional offices in Washington DC. The STOP-LOSS ORDER, which was served on every member of Congress in the last two days, involuntarily extends the tour of duty of Congress until every soldier and contractor is out of Iraq and Afghanistan, and cancels Congress' planned Easter vacation, effective immediately. Rep. Kucinich, agreeing that Congress works for the people, has agreed to comply immediately with the STOP-LOSS ORDER, remain at his desk, not leave when his fellow members of Congress go on vacation, and to stay on duty until ALL the troops and contractors are home. Other members of Congress will be announcing their compliance today.
Rep. Kucinich today is meeting with members of OurSpringBreak, the organization of students who have come to Washington to spend their school vacation working on political activism.

SENATE SERVED WITH STOP-LOSS ORDERS !
HOUSE TO BE SERVED TODAY, CIVIL RESISTANCE TOMORROW
SENATORS TOLD: “Congress can’t go home until all the Troops are home…”
STOP-LOSS CONGRESS, the nationwide grass-roots organization, joined by members of OurSpringBreak, Iraq Veterans Against the War, Code Pink, and Veterans for Peace, and led by active-duty personnel and veterans who have endured involuntary extensions of their tours of duty, served STOP-LOSS orders on members of the Senate yesterday, involuntarily extending the Senators’ tours of duty effective immediately, and canceling Congress’ upcoming Easter vacation. All members of The House will be served today (11).
“This March, while tens of thousands of Americans in Washington, D.C., and all over the United States will be participating in non-violent actions to protest the ongoing occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and involuntarily deployed U.S. soldiers and innocent civilian victims begin another year of occupation, torture, and murder, U.S. congress members plan to go on vacation (March 15th to 30th), ignoring the killing and suffering they have enabled, supported, and financed.” said one of the team of organizers.
“To intensify the irony, Congress has condoned a widespread stop-loss policy in the military which requires soldiers to involuntarily extend their tours and prolong the killing.”
“It is time to Stop-Loss Congress!”
ACTION TOMORROW, Wednesday March 12 4:30PM West Front of The Capitol: nonviolent DIRECT action on Capitol Hill, to enforce full compliance with the Stop-Loss Orders, and ensure that the members of Congress and their staffs will not go home but remain to DO THEIR DUTY, and immediately end the funding of the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, and that No member of Congress goes home until ALL THE TROOPS COME HOME.
These actions are all complementary to the WINTER SOLDIER events being organized by I.V.A.W. which will bring together veterans from across the country to testify about their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan. The term “STOP-LOSS CONGRESS” came from IVAW leader Adam Kokesh.

ATTENTION Pelosi & Reid
AS leaders of the 110th Democratic Congress, having been duly served with "STOP-LOSS-ORDERS", just like the ones our troops and veterans are complying with in Iraq and Afghanistan, each of you are now called upon to comply with orders extending the tour of duty of Congress until every soldier and contractor is out of Iraq. Your planned vacation breaks, starting with your break on March 15th to March 30th, have all been cancelled, effective immediately, and Congress is expected to remain at their posts to comply with orders. Bravo Rep Dennis Kucinich for remaining at your post and complying with orders until the occupation of Iraq has ended.
President Kucinich...I Love You
No surprise here. The man is an icon and a template to how government SHOULD respond to "We The People".
How many others will join him with this gesture? I can hear the crickets chirping in the silent background.
Kucinich stays in entrenched in Congress thru occupied duration
HE IS OUR AMERICAN HERO !!!
Kucinich is the best by far!
I have a hand painted sign on my garage that says Kucinich 2008. Nailed it there in June 2007. It will be there forever!

Should we be sending food to his office?
Seriously, we ought to send over lunches, etc, to show the other members of Congress that is pays to stand by the people?
God Bless Dennis ...
I freely admit it ... I'm an admirer of Dennis Kucinich. He's a man of principle who boldly and fearlessly takes a stand on what is right, and he's been fighting on behalf of the "forgotten Americans" long before Hillary Clinton discovered their existence.
Because he's willing to stay and fight when he could have taken a well-deserved leave, I think it would be a nice gesture to send over lunches to show the other members of Congress that when they stand by the people whom they were elected to represent it pays dividends.
Can't hurt, right?

"Should we be sending food to his office?"

I think it's more important to send a good supply of helmets, flak jackets, and train tickets. Apparently he has some enemies. At the very least he should learn from John John, Mel Carnahan, Paul Wellstone, Omar Torrijos, Jaime Boldos and a couple of African heads of state, and not fly anywhere.
Kucinich Lied to Stop Loss Congress Activists
Congressman Kucinich is not in his DC office, after promising to comply with Congressional stop loss orders.
After telling the Stop Loss Congress Activists that he would comply with their demands, Kucinich left DC and has apparently lied to everyone. Just as Kucinich has backed down on his promised to Introduce Articles of Impeachment of Bush, and begin 9/11 hearings on insider trading, it appears Kucinich is another paid actor in the Congressional dog and pony show.
