Mother Jones

I am wondering the same thing. I have had MotherJones.com as my homepage for almost a year, and was shocked when it didn't show up yesterday. It's quite odd that there aren't any other forums discussions about this. When I Googled "what happened to Mother Jones website" this forum question was the ONLY relevant search to show up.

I have no problem going to the mj website

http://www.motherjones.com/

maybe there was a glitch or the site may have been down for maintinance for a while.

The political party I belong to is the entire body politic of the United States of America and our Constitution that I support without bias which neither states or implies any allegiance with any other socalled organized political party.

INDY -- I Have A 'Silly' Question

That expanded logo of yours // i.e., The political party I belong to ... etc //

Am I understanding you right -- You proudly belong to that (but at the same time without preference) corrupt element that presents itself in our American political world as Democrat and/or Republican? They're certainly there in our face as that but I personally don't believe they honestly and truly represent either. Have you allowed yourself (without bias as you say) to become a hybrid blend w/o tagging directly, associating directly with one or the other -- but a blend that certainly includes the gangsters 'politic' that has been operating our government for these past decades?

I'm an American citizen but I certainly don't consider myself belonging to this 'entire body politic' if only because I understand them to be corrupt and truly not what they would have us believe they are -- i.e., a two party political system. They are not that at all, they are some morphed distorted single-headed version of that (a mix of both) but certainly not true representation of who we are and what we are as a people of a once proud and wonderful nation. I don't believe they support our U.S. Constitution (some having called it nothing more than a damn piece of paper) and for that I stand with bias against them, certainly not 'supporting them without bias' (as you say).

Am I understanding you correctly?

-- Well, as I said -- My thoughts and question to you.

More specificially I'm a native born citizen of the United States of America and one small part of an entire national body politic that in no small part I can disagree with or agree with as I alone see fit and treat even those I disagree with, with as much respect and dignity as I am shown.

And as for those that can't or won't reciprocate I eventually and inevitably ignore rather than waste my time in endless fruitless debate where people try idiotically to convince someone else to change their minds such as goes on here in this blog.

These are my choices to make and mine alone.

When I volunteered for U S military service in 1961 and was sent to war in late 1962 I was never questioned or questioned myself who I was fighting for, democrats, republicans, greenies, libertarians, etc.. Nor did I ask any other U S Soldier serving with me, white, black, or brown those very much offensive questions. And I find it quite a bit offensive to be asked to defend any of my positions now and won't defend them to you or anyone else because I don't have to for one and for another my positions are nobody elses business.

Accept that or not. I could care less which.

I did indicate it to be a 'silly' question. It's obviously important to you, or as least I assumed as much since I see you carry it over to each of your postings -- something you obviously want everybody to know about you. I was just asking for clarification since you think it so important. Nice for me to know who it is I'm exchanging thought with; I mean you might be somebody I wish to avoid. Smile, that was a joke.

You beat me (your military service) by a couple of years. You were marching around on the parade field while I was still a kid in freshman year high school. I caught up with you though, I went in July 1964.

As to this politic thing, I'm no expert -- I know enough to say that about it. I do feel that our government has gone from bad to worse. That we stand a damn good chance of going from worse to even something far worse than that even -- from worse to terrible maybe. Not good. I don't belong (in my heart and soul) to any organized political system either although I do have my name tagged to the Republican Party. I certainly don't associate myself with any of the Republican ideals (nor their candidates for POTUS) and for that reason perhaps I need to change the tag I've given myself. Independent -- I like that better.

Now if you're saying something like that -- then we're on the same sheet. I vote for the individual I feel has America's best interest at heart. I don't truly see anyone that fits that bill presently. Maybe OBAMA. I felt DENNIS KUCINICH did. I was under the false impression that RON PAUL did (but too many unanswered questions persist regarding him). Right now. My main concern is to see our land return to somewhat more normal circumstance. First thing first in that regard (as I see it) would be to IMPEACH GWB and CHENEY and RICE and etc., etc. With them gone then and only then will our political process have a fair playing field. So I think.

I agree with you -- I don't care much for people trying to force me to see things their way either. If I screw up then it's me to blame, that's the best approach I think.

Impeach and then try and find the best person for the job. We certainly need to be doing something positive.

You have a nice day. No offense, okay.

Our government(s) at every level have gone from worse to horrible and so have the organized political parties in my one lone opinion.

If I ever join another political party which is not liable to happen before I die it will not be a political party in existance now it will be a new party made up with people of common sense.

My blog signature at the end of each of my posts and replies is a reminder that I don't have partiality for or even respect for a single one of the current organized political parties, but only that I am just one of hundreds of millions of U S Citizens from all walks of life and affiliations;
nothing deeper than that even by innuendo or suggestion and I don't appreciate anybody trying to make it sound like anything else and/or questioning me about it.

Let's agree for you be you, I be me, and everyone else to be what they want to be, including being a troublemaker shall we.

I wondered that myself..

That's how I found this forum, actually. I was trying to go to Mother Jones, and the website is gone. So, I typed into google "What happened to Mother Jones website?" and found this forum. This website has many interesting discussions and articles. I'm glad to have found it.

Don't know what happened either,

hopefully a short-lived blip, but you are among friends. Check out the green box at left re Iraq Town Halls to see if you can help with this very time-sensitive call to action/education. Peace.
