Pelosi's Plan Is to Ask Petraeus How to End the Occupation - THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS POST
This Email from Nancy Pelosi sounds surprisingly good up until the last line and the absence of any proposal to DO anything:
Counting Down to General Petraeus’ Visit to Capitol Hill
Next week, General David Petraeus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker will testify before Congress about the Iraq war. As the media has reported, General Petraeus’ intention in his testimony is simply to announce a continuation of the current strategy: maintain at least 140,000 U.S. troops in Iraq indefinitely.
The war in Iraq has not only endangered our troops, weakened our military readiness, and diverted resources from the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan—it has also seriously undermined America’s economy. The war has taken us deeply into debt, and this week Chairman Ben Bernanke testified that a recession is possible. As Nobel Prize recipient Joseph Stiglitz has said, "The Iraq adventure has seriously weakened the U.S. economy, whose roles go far beyond the loose mortgage lending. You can't spend $3 trillion on a failed war and not feel the pain at home." While the United States faces a recession, our ability to implement a full-scale economic stimulus is hampered by the skyrocketing costs of the war and our national debt.
The American people understand the enormous cost of the war in Iraq and are looking for more than running out the clock until the next president takes office in January 2009. With General Petraeus’ visit to Capitol Hill, we will demand answers on how the war in Iraq is helping us fight the real terrorist threat in Afghanistan, and how we will begin to wind down this war and bring our troops home.

(Help!) I got this e-mail from Congressman Robert Wexler
Dear EW,
As President Bush stubbornly refuses to change course in Iraq, it grows increasingly frustrating for those of us who have been loudly demanding a withdrawal. I know you share my frustration. Every day, I receive letters and emails from patriotic Americans who want to - somehow – personally contribute to a solution.
Now it is your turn.
Next week, General Petraeus – the architect of the failed surge policy and our chief military leader in Iraq - will be testifying before the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
For too long the Bush Administration has been in a bubble – hiding from the truth and avoiding tough questions from outraged American citizens. This time I am turning the oversight powers of Congress over to you.
I want you to be the ones asking the questions to General Petraus.
Write me back with a short reply and tell me what - specifically - you would like me to ask. Please include your first name as well as your city and state.
I will choose the best two questions and ask them to General Petraeus this Wednesday. You will be able to watch his answers directly on C-Span.
Please consider submitting a question. You already work so hard to bring accountability to this Administration and to bring our troops home from Iraq. I hope this provides you another opportunity for us to collaborate and directly influence the national dialogue.
Please keep your questions short and focused.
I look forward to your response, and thank you for participating directly in our democracy.

Thanks,

Four Questions or Petreaus, which is really only one
Here are my questions for Petreaus.
Will there be a blood bath if we pull out immediately?
Will there be a blood bath if we pull out in 5 year?
Will there be a blood bath if we pull out in 10 year?
Will there be a blood bath if we pull out in 100 years ass suggested by McCain?
I believe the answer will be "yes" to all the questions, therefore we should pull out NOW!
I got one...
Wexler should ask the good general if Cheney's boots taste like chicken.
What Pelosi means to ask is...
Hoe do we end the occupation and yet still feed the beast our dollars, troops and innocent victims of other nations?
Stay The Course As Usual
LONG AGO Bush set the pace for Iraq. He's staying the course no matter what. Congress can take it or lump it and there are no other choices. When Petraeus speaks he will most likely be saying what his boss wants to hear. When Pelosi or anyone else on that Committee asks him how can we end the occupation, he'll probably say more time is needed for success, but, after all is said and done, Pelosi, the Committee, and even Congress, can go and lump it.
The best way to end this illegal occupation and crimes against
the people of Iraq IS TO IMPEACH THE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE-PRESIDENT NOW!!
No Not Now - Yesterday !
Impeach Pelosi First.
What have these buffooons to show for themselves since the Illegal Invasion had been declared won by the Commander in Chief of US Troops, back in May of '03 ...when there were less than a 100 soldiers killed?

Hmmm
Ms.Pelosi has now earned herself the charge of aiding and abetting criminal activity..
She must have her own list of crimes to protect or she wouldn't have worked so hard protecting Bush's crimes...
Pelosi IS complicit!
You are exactly right, she is protecting herself and the other dem leaders. They knew what was happening and bought into the uber American sentiment way back when.
Pelosi has been illegitimate
Pelosi has been illegitimate ever since she signed off on torture and took impeachment (Constitutional Law) "off the table". You must understand that Pelosi's loyalties serve the financial interests of the Bush crime family and the Zionist State of Israel first, second and third. She is oblivious to Bush's Terrorism and she only pretends to care about us.
In other words, she's a Neocrud dressed in blue drag with Blood Red underwear.
Petraeus White House Spin Cycle....Part Two
How bold of Nancy! But then she caved in again, meekly apologized for her unpatriotic outburst, and took it all "Off The Table" Get some courage for once Nancy, and Re-Set the Impeachment Table! The Dems were practically handed this 08 Pres election on a Silver Platter in advance considering the radioactive label associated with the Republican party of today after two disastrous Bush terms. Unfortunately, the Dems chose to employ a "Play it Safe" and don't do anything perceived as brazen and we'll win back the White House in 08 strategy. What Courage to lead and do the right thing! This cowardly strategy has left many Dem voters feeling that they didn't get what they expected from the Dems when electing them to a House and Senate majority in the Nov 06 mid term elections. This will make the 08 election much closer than it had to be. Meanwhile America continues to swirl deeper down the crapper, and our Constitution continues to be shredded like never before. All because Impeachment of the Bu**Co crime cabal continues to be "Off The Table"
