Obama For President
By Sherwood Ross
Of course, when fanatics can’t attack a man for anything he’s actually done that’s downright despicable, they’ll go after him for what he’s said, and if they can’t find anything he’s said that’s awful they’ll go after him for what his friends or associates have said.
Apparently, that’s why Fox News has endlessly replayed those clips of Senator Obama’s pastor saying controversial things. All they can charge Obama with is knowing the man, not exactly a crime yet in America, and the Fox newscasters aren’t the least bit mollified that Obama has repudiated Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s comments. Fox is engaging in the old Joe McCarthy smear tactic of guilt by association. Back in the Fifties, if you happened to ride on the same bus with a Commie, it made you a “fellow traveler.”
By contrast, Fox commentators don’t begin to hold Senator McCain up to the same standard they demand of Obama’s pastor! Bill O’Reilly sees nothing wrong with Senator McCain’s vote to launch an illegal war against Iraq because O’Reilly backed that war, too, and seemingly swallowed the lies Bush told to start it.
No matter if Bush’s war has by now claimed the lives of a million human beings, destroyed much of Iraq, and cost the American people 4,000+ lives, 30,000 wounded, (have you visited a VA hospital lately?) and parted the public from a couple of trillion bucks. As far as Fox News is concerned, it’s okay to vote to make illegal wars and kill innocent people. It’s not okay to have a pastor that condemns wrong wars in an angry tone of voice. That's disgusting.
As this campaign has worn on, I have begun to suspect that Obama does not believe in killing innocent people. Recall that Senator Clinton scolded him last year for saying he would not use atomic weapons to go after terrorists. Obama said he wouldn’t do it as nukes might kill civilians.
Since the use of such weapons is prohibited by a treaty the United States has signed, it’s an eminently sensible position. Besides, when you drop an atomic bomb, the fallout spreads and who knows where it might wind up? The Three-Mile Island debacle pales beside the prospect of military use of a nuclear weapon.
But Clinton chided Obama for taking the nuclear “option” off the table when, in fact, no such option exists. Now this is a very real and significant difference between the candidates. As far as I can tell, Obama is the only one of the three sane enough not to claim the right to use banned atomic weapons.
Maybe that’s because, as a constitutional scholar and former University of Chicago law school professor, Obama believes in law and order. The Illinois Fraternal Order of Police thought so when it endorsed him for the Senate in 2004. However, by their votes favoring an illegal war, Senators McCain and Clinton have proved they are no respecters of law and order, no more than is President Bush, no more than Fox News.
Speaking of the law, when you graduate magna cum laude and as president of the Harvard Law Review you can pretty much have your pick of jobs at many a prestigious law firm and earn yourself a bundle. Instead, Obama took a $13,000-a-year job as head of a faith-based community organizing agency funded by the Catholic Church and directed by a church coalition. According to biographers, Obama worked “to counteract the dislocation and massive unemployment caused by the closing and downsizing of southeast Chicago steel plants.”
So I ask you, who would want a man in the White House that actually believes in law and order, refuses to vote for illegal wars or drop atomic bombs, and instead devotes his life to alleviating human suffering in preference to making himself rich? Why would anyone vote for such a guy? Seriously, Obama towers over his opponents in the eyes of Americans who would like to see a humanitarian, not a warmonger, seated in the Oval Office.

BILLARY TOO!
This is something few people know.
This is in http://www.Michaelmoore.com
"When she and her husband were having marital difficulties regarding Monica Lewinsky, who did she and Bill bring to the White House for 'spiritual counseling?' THE REVEREND JEREMIAH WRIGHT!"
I think she is a Warmonger dressed as a Dem.
Obama for President!
I also like Kucinich, Jesse Ventura and Ron Paul

OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!
I like better Kucinich. Ventura and Paul but they don't have any chance so far.
Obama is a piece of garbage
and so is hitlery and mcbomb, all came from the same level of crap.
Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever.
"Again" <><>//?": president?XXX$
reynaldo i trevino Ron Paul's is a fucking PIG just like the bushies crime family fuck you >>>///......And your ReVoLutioN.
I love "mcbomb"
MCBOMB ... there, I said it too
Damn if that isn't a serious term describing John McCain's strawman candidacy for,,,cpghcpgh,,,President of the United States of America!!! [hinthint, he's there to distract the real arguments between HBillary and Obama]
Ron Paul has helped start a mission of the people that includes people... interesting concept that deserves the attention-span of the American Public some day.
Ron Paul Believes the Executive Office deserves Transparency, Integrity, and Accountability, and a Foreign Policy which is consistent with universal "unalienable Rights"... These things are of Paramount Importance.
Obama is not a "piece of garbage" though, but a candidate selected by innumerable private corporate interests, and much public fanfare, which doesn't make him garbage, but dissociated from people in their daily struggle because of the nature of his obligations right now.
-*-*-*Real Issues require Real Transformations-*-*-*
There is no playing with change, transformation, or progress. We, the Human Being, have adopted Our Planet for the Betterment of All. We shall not waver, which is why "the revolution will be around forever".
If Dennis Kucinich cannot choose Ron Paul for Vice President, Obama ought to engage Open Dialog to consider it... make his presidency in half a day... interesting that genuflection might overcome race by having a black President choose a white Vice President who can be Trusted by All. Imagine an Open Vice Presidency taking Root in Our government...
We must get over the idea that this is a battle with "MCBOMB", it really is a battle with Hillary-the-same-"McSame" as MCBOMB... if I'm wrong, let it be reputed here: and that makes it your turn

Guess who
From friend that Snopes EVERYTHING.
In 1961, a young African-American man, after hearing President John F. Kennedy's challenge to, 'Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,' gave up his student deferment, left college in Virginia and voluntarily joined the Marines.
In 1963, this man, having completed his two years of service in the Marines, volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. (They provide medical assistance to the Marines as well as to Navy personnel.)
The man did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Not surprisingly, he was assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility, Bethesda Naval Hospital, as a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery.
For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation.
What is even more remarkable is that this man entered the Marines and Navy not many years after the two branches began to become integrated.
While this young man was serving six years on active duty, Vice President Dick Cheney, who was born the same year as the Marine/ sailor, received five deferments, four for being an undergraduate and graduate student and one for being a prospective father.
Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, both five years younger than the African-American youth, used their student deferments to stay in college until 1968. Both then avoided going on active duty through family connections.
Who is the real patriot? The young man who interrupted his studies to serve his country for six years or our three political leaders who beat the system? Are the patriots the people who actually sacrifice something or those who merely talk about their love of the country?
After leaving the service of his country, the young African-American finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of a large church in one of America's biggest cities.
This man is Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the retired pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ.
What We've Got Here ...
It never ceases to amaze me how swiftly Barack Obama is being simultaneously being built up and ruthlessly torn down by the American oligarch-controlled MSM, who are dutifully reciting the lies, innuendoes, baseless gossip and insinuations which have been mouthed by Rupert Murdoch's Fleet Street media vultures for the past six months, including lurid, sensational stories about people whom Obama knows, things he's alleged to have said, or things which people in his campaign have allegedly said.
Fox News is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who never misses and opportunity to smear Obama with baseless gossip in an attempt to quickly tear him down in order to boost the political fortunes of John McCain and Hillary Clinton, both of whom are flagrantly pro-war, who would keep the U.S. in Iraq indefinitely, and who would give the order to "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" with nukes on the slightest provocation, even if they have to make one up.
There's also a indication, which Obama keeps hinting at, that if he becomes President, he might restore the Constitution, which G.W. Bush famously referred to as "a damned piece of paper", to its rightful place as the highest law of the land. This, of course, causes no end of hysteria among those who've profited handsomely from the breaking of the Constitution, which also fuels their anti-Obama rants. They're terrified that the goose which have laid them dozens and dozens of golden eggs (like BlackWater) over the past seven and a half years is about to be cooked, and they want to keep the status quo going for as long as possible, even as the nation's infrastructure is collapsing into ruin, the population is mired in an economic depression, and is being eaten alive by massive interest payments on a multi-trillion dollar debt to other nations (especially China and Japan) which can never, ever, be repaid.
Rupert Murdoch's London/New York media vultures choose to overlook Hillary Clinton's links to international organized crime by focusing on Obama's friendship with Tony Rezko and Rezko's supposed financial ties to Iranian businessman (and terrorist) Nadmi Auchi, while ignoring the fact that Hillary and Bill's good buddy, businessman Marc Rich has cultivated friendships with several Iranian businessmen, and among Rich's good friends is Nadmi Auchi, the same man whom the Murdoch oligarchical MSM are attempting to hang as a millstone around Obama's neck.
The obvious double standard between Obama, Clinton and McCain is glaring as it is ugly; Jeremiah Wright is raked over the coals for delivering a powerful "fire and brimstone" sermon against America's many sins, while John McCain's "spiritual advisors", John Hagee and Rod Parsley, are able to broadcast their anti-Catholic, anti-Muslim and anti-government rants -- Parsley advocates privatization of Social Security and other violations of the "General Welfare" clause of the Constitution -- freely and without a single peep of criticism from the MSM.
Perhaps what so terrifies Rupert Murdoch and his oligarchical cronies is that Barack Obama might not be easily controlled and manipulated as they think he can be, and were he to become President, he could very well shock them by instituting policy changes which would restore the Constitution, demolish the "Unitary Executive" Presidency, and make all three branches of government -- executive, judicial and legislative -- go back to the "check and balance" system which the Founders intended.
From his speeches, Obama is less of a populist, and more of a humanitarian, and it's this clearly humanitarian viewpoint his candidacy has taken which attracts many to his candidacy and enrages others to the point where they seek to tear him down with every bit of gossip, insinuation and innuendo they can get their hands on.
Obama's heroes are Reagan and GHWBush --Obama is a neocon
It always suprises me how gullible the Obama supporters are. The Republicans want him to win because he of the Rezko and Auchi scandals that they could use to destroy him if he gets out of line.
Reagan and HW Bush at least learned how to reas
W. Bush can't even read to save his sorry ass life.
Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever.
It is very interesting to
It is very interesting to read the comments that illustrate the effectiveness of the media smear campaigns. Not only has our corporate-controlled media succeeded with a certain number of people to depict Obama as a closet neocon, but it's also succeeded (with a certain number of people) to depict Obama-supporters as being completely duped kool-aid drinkers. Remarkable, if these posts accurately reflect the perceptions of their owners. It's hard to tell, though, because their rhetoric and tone are so off-the-wall and unsubstantive as to make me wonder if they're not "intentionally-planted comments."
I'm an Obama-supporter, and I don't drink kool-aid:
http://goodgirlroxie.blogspot.com/2008/04/yes-we-can.html
The media wants us to nominate Obama because he is a neocon
The media didn't make Obama say that his hero was Reagan or that he would appoint Bush Sr his foreign policy advisor. The media didn't force Obama to talk about nuking Iran or bombing Pakistan. Those were words out of Obama's own mouth.
The media didn't force Obama to change that nuclear bill to make it easier for nuclear companies to dump their waste without notice to the victims. That was Obama's doing.
The media didn't force Obama to vote to cut health care funds for the poor or for that stupid Berlin-style wall. The media didn't force Obama to vote FIVE times to renew the PATRIOT Act or more than two dozen times in support of the war in Iraq. Obama is responsible for his own voting record.
If Obama is nominated, the only decent choice is McKinney for President.
Sorry McKinney, I'm voting for Bob Barr or Jerome Corsi
McKinney isn't going to get us out of the UN, Because they are owned by the same greedy fascist who own the military industrial complex
Bob Barr libertarian or Jerome Corsi Constitution are the only things that worth my vote for me, because i'm fiscally conserative and libertarian.
Thank God Ron Paul's a congressman again, he may have dropped out and lost the race for president of the united states in 2008, but the revolution will be around forever.
