they tagged teamed waxman
incrementaly these former soviet tactics of 'disruption of meetings' have now been incorporated right before our eyes
in the former soviet union and even in present times, individuals are taught a type of ju jitsu to break up something as simple as a public meeting or gathering
thanks for showing the video clip from c-span
does anyone doubt the veracity of the loss of our constituional form of our government
as stated before by others, the precendent has been set.
no one has to answer to congress anymore
they are on last threads holding congress together- let's see what they do now
for this to continue unabated is the end of the republic
Waxman
The worst part is, it doesn't matter if anyone interrupted anyone else.
Waxman and the other Democrat party leaders are not going to stand up to the Bush admin on anything or they would have had different hearings.
Honestly, Waxman has already prooved himself to be a gutless sycophant.
He should have just let someone else talk. Maybe waxman and buttface tagteamed Rep. Issa.
What's the payoff?
Did I miss something? He threatened to kick Issa out of the room. Sounded tough, made for good video, but these guys are experts at being all bark and no bite.
What's the payoff, David? Or was that just a sarcastic headline?

I don't get it either...
it seemed to me the witness continued to stone-wall and refuse to answer questions till Waxman had to let someone else ask questions.
and the "payoff" is?
OT...
not many people chatting around here anymore, are they? It seems the yellow journalism piece about 9/11 "truthers" got the most interest. 19 comments so far all ridiculing the author.
I've noticed the slowdown too, Willy
Could be that the outrage fatigue bug is going around. I have to admit I've been feeling it a little myself over the last few days. Trying to stay focused and busy...
Or it could be that the effects of the chemtrails are finally kicking in and people are just spacin' out. ;-)

Gavel Frozen In Waxman's Right Hand
Republican Rep Issa took over the hearing and not only continued to aggressively interrupt the democrat Chairman, but also spoke over this Chairman, to the point that the Chairman's gavel was frozen in time in the air without coming down hard a second time while the Chairman himself was silent at that moment listening intently while a determined Republican was in control of the hearing.
The witness continued to bluff and stall the Chairman without answering any of the questions directly. Every Republican in Congress and every witness called to testify now clearly know that these democratic Chairmen, every one of them, are barking but not biting, while they run out the clock on the 110th Democratic Congress.
At such time as a king declares martial law at his whim over his kingdom these democratic Chairmen will become relics of a past age while the Republicans will return to rule the roost with an iron hand smashing their gavels against any democrat who dares to speak out.
Explanation
I mean how he's getting witnesses to answer the questions, holding them accountable, and removing them from office. Pretty impressive.
I don't think he answered the question, David...
and speaking of answering questions...
Talk about horseshit..........
Be real, whether Earthling or not* This jerkoff sure beat around the bush. What a Prick.Let's lock them all up!!!!!!!!!!
It Wasn't Everything, But It Wasn't Nothing
It is true that George Bush still has not been impeached. On the other hand, I thought it most refreshing to observe one of our elected representatives more riled up than I was for a change. They have been altogether too composed and too docile for my peace of mind for too long. What is more, Issa has had it coming for a long, long time. And Waxman did manage to shut him up! Comic relief isn't the end of the world. And I loved the sound of that gavel!
comic relief
doesn't change a policy or save a life
Agreed, David.
But if we don't allow ourselves a deep breath in the form of an occasional sarcastic one-liner, I think we stand less of a chance of reaching the ultimate goal.
I'd rather say something stupid once in a while and be able to continue with the serious stuff than keep my head down and be grinding away without pause until I implode from complete frustration and exhaustion...

Old Broads Need Laughter Now And Then
Let's see, my first anti-war protest: Columbia University, New York, New York, Fall, 1967. I am not taking anything lightly, but I am living proof that a laugh every now and again helps one live longer. On a serious note, I am SICKENED AND HORRIFIED that there is another war like this in my lifetime, and that there are not more people more angry about it more of the time. All that horrible uproar over Vietnam, we thought the "lessons" would last a lot longer than they did. The other thing about laughter is that it keeps one from crying. Thanks for your support, J.P.
