Israel PM calls for naval blockade of Iran

By AFP

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has urged the United States to impose a naval blockade on Iran to pressure it to stop its controversial nuclear programme, the Haaretz daily reported on Wednesday.

Olmert raised the issue during a meeting in Jerusalem on Tuesday with US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the newspaper said.

"The present economic sanctions on Iran have exhausted themselves," Olmert was quoted as telling the California Democrat.

Asked about the report, Olmert's spokesman Mark Regev would say only: "We do not confirm this information."

Rafi Eitan, a member of Olmert's security cabinet, said he also favoured air travel restrictions against Iran.

"A blockade of maritime and air routes against Iran is a good possibility," Eitan, the minister in charge of pensioners' affairs, told public radio.

"There are voices we hear in Washington that indicate the military option remains open," he added.

Israel, the Middle East's sole if undeclared nuclear power, suspects, like Washington, that Tehran's nuclear programme is cover for a drive to develop an atomic bomb, something Iran strongly denies.

Blockade the United States

I call on Cuba, Canada, and Mexico to impose a naval blockade on the United States to stop its controversial nuclear weapons program. Until the United States steps up and leads the world in the dismantling and elimination of nuclear weapons, America is no better than any other country possessing these weapons.

Blockade of Israel....

I call on every nation that upholds the nuclear non-proliferation act to blockade all of Israel's shipments for illegally developing nuclear weapons in secret and in clear violation of the non-proliferation treaties.

Senators Hagel & Biden

when asked to respond to rumors circulating within political circles that the Bush administration was ginning up the possibility of war with Iran, the Senator even raised the specter of impeachment.

"You've got the power of impeachment, now that is a very defined measure if you are willing to bring charges against the president at all. You can't just say I disagree with him, let's impeach him," said Hagel. An attack on Iran without Congress' consent, he added, "would bring with it... outstanding political consequences, including for the Republican Party."

yesterday, Michelle Williams of NPR asked Biden about war with Iran at a Center for American Progress event.
He replied with impeachment.

Americas proposal to bomb Iran with both conventional & nuclear

So, what is HAARP being used for? Doesn't it have the capability of discovering whether or not Iran has nuclear weapons? Of course it does!!!!! America is the warmonger once again.
