Wexler: McClellan Must Testify Under Oath Before House Judiciary Committee
Former White House Aide’s Revelations Make Out Case for Obstruction of Justice by Rove and Libby in Valerie Plame Case
(Washington, DC) Today Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) called for former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan to appear before the House Judiciary Committee to testify under oath regarding the devastating revelations made in his new book on the Bush Administration’s deliberate efforts to mislead the American people into the Iraq War.
“The admissions made by Scott McClellan in his new book are earth-shattering and allege facts to establish that Karl Rove and Scooter Libby – and possibly Vice President Cheney - conspired to obstruct justice by lying about their role in the Plame Wilson matter and that the Bush Administration deliberately lied to the American people in order to take us to war in Iraq. Scott McClellan must now appear before the House Judiciary Committee under oath to tell Congress and the American people how President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, Scooter Libby, and White House officials deliberately orchestrated a massive propaganda campaign to sell the war in Iraq to the American people.”
“The allegations by this former top White House aide – that Rove and Libby deliberately coordinated their stories in order to obstruct justice in the Plame case, that the President deliberately disregarded contradictory evidence related to Iraq, should outrage every American and Congress must respond by initiating immediate aggressive oversight starting with an appearance by McClellan before the House Judiciary Committee. Any continued obstruction by this Administration to prevent White House officials from appearing before Congress cannot be tolerated by this Congress in the face of these shocking revelations.”
Congressman Wexler has led a nationwide campaign in favor of holding impeachment hearings for Vice-President Dick Cheney. Congressman Wexler is Chairman of the Europe Subcommittee and a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Judiciary Committee.

McClellan testimony
God Speed and may the force be with you Congressman Wexler.
Please bring these criminals to justice.
Wexler - STOP writing about it - JUST DO IT! Impeach NOW!
I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it.
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
In most communities it is illegal to cry "fire" in a crowded assembly. Should it not be considered serious international misconduct to manufacture a general war scare in an effort to achieve local political aims?
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower
How does it become a man to behave toward this American government to-day? I answer that he cannot without disgrace be associated with it.
-- Henry David Thoreau
bush
I wonder how they {basterds with bush} will slide out of this one.I was a republican for 50 years. I am ashamed of what has happened. It will be the end of the republican party.
Wexler:McClellan must testify
Great News! I wonder what the "pressure points" are now -who to pressure and what is a strategy-2 or 3 things the average person can do ?
sell books today, sold war yesterday
If Mr. McClellan's only motive is to make money selling books he would never have released his book before Labor Day. As Chief of Staff Andrew Card said "from a marketing point of view, you don't introduce new products in August."
Let's hope the timing of his release stops or deters the administration's pursuit of global "Pox Americana" by executing Clean Break and invading Iran, Syria, and Lebanon.
I have nothing but contempt and anger for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious of traitors."
-- George Herbert Walker Bush, 1999
George Walker Bush's administration exposed Valerie Plame and other noc Federal agents associated with Brewster Jennings and any civilians known to be affiliated with them.
Cheney, Rove, Libby and others orchestrated a take down of Wilson to cover up one of the 935 lies they told to sell Iraq.
The Wilsons were targeted bc he went public with "what I didn't find in Niger." Though other Americans independently confirmed what Ambassador Wilson claims such as Four-Star Marine General Carlton W. Fulford Jr. who visited Niger and found no evidence that uranium could be diverted to iraq 2/24/2002.
Are Wexler and Wasserman Schulz's willingness to arrest Rove plus Conyers and Senators Biden and Lugar's threat of a 'post-emptive impeachment after invasion' posturing for upcoming elections or pursuing justice?
with 18% approval of Congress it could be both. With McBush using W. to raise money and picking Bush's Brain Karl Rove for advice and hiring Condoleeza Rice's former deputy at the NSC as your foreign policy advisor, Democrats nay be beginning to realize that exercising checks and balances on the Bush White House would harpoon McBush's chances. Will McClellan's Insider account embolden Congress to make front-page history or continue to document while Kristol and Rove revise history on Fox, Newsweek, and New York Times?
W-Schulz is a Clinton supporter who does not support hearings. Her tough talk could mean Clinton directed her supporters to act even if impeachment results.
Sold war yesterday & selling books today
If McClellan's motive is financial according to naysayers who ignore the message and attack the messenger, then he would have released his book after Labor Day because everybody and Andrew Card, former WH Chief of Staff knows you don't market a product like Iraq or a book in August.
I have nothing but contempt and anger for those who betray the trust by exposing the name of our sources. They are, in my view, the most insidious of traitors."
-- George Herbert Walker Bush, 1999
Sources like NOC agent Valerie Plame and everyone associated with Brewster Jennings, a front company fighting nuclear proliferation. All exposed by this White House to cover up one of 935 lies.
"In my line of work you gotta keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kinda catapult the propaganda"
-- George Walker Bush, 2005
McClellan describes WHouse propaganda the Pentagon suspends its message force multipliers, aka "psyops on steroids the military issues warnings about a "transition threat" when this President departs, and about military personnel not to go public with their "politics," i.e. wanting to serve George forever.
Combine pending hearings/investigations into one impeachment hearing.
Hodes/Defazio/DeLauro on Pentagon propaganda
Waxman on Iraq lies
Sherman on torture
Conyers on Iran.
Wexler witch hunt!
isn't amazing that when Scott was the White House press secretary - Wexler didn't believe a word he said - BUT now that he is written a (fictional) book - he is definitely telling the TRUTH . . . you would think with all the issues we have as a country that Wexler would focus on IMPORTANT needs of our country? Welcome to the "I Hate Bush" club - no facts or reason, just hatred - hey, shouldn't we make a hate law against that for Congressmen/women?
Let's start impeachment process
I welcome impeachment process. Let's place everyone under oath. Let's find out when, why, who and why did EVERYONE claim wmd believed to be true. Let's start back say in, 1998. Let's call upon UN,Annan, Galloway and all other folks who pocketed money or barrels of oil from oil for food program.
Let's call upon Clinton administration and dem leaders claims...what was true in 1998,2000,2003 and found out not to be true in 2005.
Then let's hear Armitage under oath about what, why and when he knew whether Plame was covert.
Let's see what measures if any did government take in protecting Plame's covert status.
Then Let's find out what New Orleans did with levee fundings before Katrina. And did NO state and local authorities follow emergency evacuation plan already in place.
Let's put congress to good use, afterall, if they can invest time to see who, why and why injected Clellans with steriods, Im sure they can take time out to finally put accusations, best guesses, bias and so forth to rest.
So, instead of conducting our nation's business on how to lower gas prices, secure borders, pass FISA bill etc. I welcome impeachment process as another congress ploy to cover up their incompetence since January 2007.
In words of President Bush "Bring it on?"
