Rep. Dennis Kucinich: This Administration Wins Olympic Gold!

The DNC should run this speech as a campaign ad. The American people are gasping for the fresh air of truth, and Dennis' speech is pure oxygen! The best speeches I've heard so far are insipid in comparison. "Neo-con artists" - "We went into Iraq for oil" - "They skillfully played our post 9-11 fears" - these are the Truths the American people need to hear. I also think his call "to go from down to up" would resonate widely.

This guy has the heart of a lion. Dennis doesn't need a gold medal - he IS gold!

What the hell is this man talking about? With all due respect for Dennis' opposition to the war and working for impeachment; the Democratic Party supported everything he is complaining about the Republicans.

If Republicans get a gold medal for missmanagement what do the Democrats get for supporting that same missmanagement, silver?

Democrats are part of the problem, not a solution to the problem!

This little guy has the stature of a giant. God bless Dennis for having the guts to say what most politicians wont. He's the only one demanding prosecution of the corrupt Bush administration.

His speech was the best one at the convention so far. Dennis, you're my hero. Thank you for having the courage to speak truth in the face of sham.

Dennis Kucinich showed once again that he is the real voice of the rank-and-file Democrats. Though the hall was half empty, he brought the delegates present to their feet cheering, some in tears. He has earned the right to speak for us over and over again, with his courage, passion, clarity and loyalty to the people.

Many of us love Dennis. But we should know that it is the love that is inside ourselves that we feel, not something that is a property of Kucinich. It was not born with him and will not die with him. Rather it is something that he calls forth from us, and he evokes it as he calls on us to love each other and our shared dreams for our children; as he calls on us to join with each other in taking our country back! It is *our* love, and he is but giving it a public face!

Now Dennis is passionately calling on us to throw ourselves into the task of electing Obama/Biden and defeating McCain. Let's honor the trust and love he has won from us by taking heed and rising to the challenge!

Don't look for the DP leadership to honor and respect him, to raise him to leadership in the campaign or give him a cabinet post. He represents the potential for an insurrection within the DP, the possibility of the rank and file throwing out the corrupt humbugs with their cozy deals with the moneybags, and claiming the party for the people! The possibility of a democratic Democratic Party! The Clintons, the Bidens, the Pelosis and the Obamas are terrified of him and of what he represents. But this is not the time to repeat the call to "throw the bums out"; the next few months are for taking on the battle to throw Darth Vader and Dr. Strangelove out of the White House, for rallying the people to save what's left of America's democratic institutions, to block the path to war and to and create an opening for progress. A time for creating an opening for a great movement for progressive solutions to the unfolding catastrophe!

Imagine we were in a movement to win rank-and-file control of a corrupt union, whose leaders were cozy with the bosses and had sold us out time and again. Now imagine we were going into a strike situation where the company was out to break us, to break the union. Would we not at that time drop our attacks on the leadership and rally the brothers and sisters to win the strike and save the union? But we wouldn't expect the union bosses to be grateful and become our friends! We'd watch them like a hawk, knowing how faint-of-heart they are beneath their brave words, pushing them to fight and win, pushing a winning agenda, always alert and ready to block them from selling out or making fatal compromises! And win or lose, the struggle for a rank-and-file union would resume when the strike was over. The union bosses would never for a minute forget that, and neither would we!

So it is not Obama or Biden, the DNC or the DLC that is going to embrace Dennis and use him as their voice. That's our job! Let's forward this article (or at least the video) to everyone we know, and ask them to pass it on! Then let's get out there and win this fight!

And don't forget to throw some spare change Dennis' way! He still faces a very-well-funded primary challenge in his own district, against a candidate from the DLC!

Dennis Kucinich is just a shill! A distraction! Just yet another congressional stooge following the scripted agenda! Wake up America and VOTE for Obama-Biden? HA!

Kucinich is NOT a maverick! And Obama is simply the flip-side of the SAME corrupted coin as Bush-McCain! No matter how many times you flip it, it still comes up corrupt!

If you "think" Kucinich is fighting for "Justice" on behalf of We The People, then please THINK again! It's all just for show! SO YES PLEASE...

WAKE UP AMERICA! WAKE UP AMERICA! WAKE UP AMERICA!

Dennis has the eyes of the world upon him and does not mention impeachment. He praises Obama who votes to shred the 4th amendment, funds illegal millitary actions, and subsidises the coal industry, all things very similar to articles of impeachment he brought against Bush and Cheney. We are growing skeptical when he had the chance to mention the impeachment petitions but instead jumps up and down in a silly manner. We are not happy or suprised.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE

Sadly, I thought some people on this site were more sophisicated. Too bad folks failed to actually hear what was said instead of failing to hear what they wanted to be said.

For all the talk about "code words", "use of language", "controlling the message", it appear that some folks failed to apply any of the leasons learned.

For a simple primer of what was really said:

"WAKE UP AMERICA"

Lets start with this phrase. Now think about it...Wake up...hmmm.... The examples that were given all highlight the difference between what the NeoCONs and other scummy politicans say and what is reality. Infact, the single largest barrier to impeachment has been the lies spewed by Pelosi..."I never read the articles...I see no impeachable offenses"...and the related B.S. Indeed, WAKE UP AMERICA to the B.S. being shoveled in your faces. The whole meme of DK's speach was directed towards waking up and seeing the lies espoused by con-artists like Pelosi and here NeoCON buddies.

Careful examination of the use of the "Wake Up America" phrase will demonstrate that it was ment to stimulate the critical thinking of the public. This applies DIRECTLY to impeachment, 9/11 false flag, economic collapse, corporate control of the media, and all the other ills brought forth by the NeoCONs. The masses of America need to "Wake up" and smell the coffee!!!

The single barrier to restoring America has been the failure of the majority of people to "Wake Up" and look at what is exactly going on. Wake up to the truth - not the MSM B.S., wake up and see the forces that are destroying the middle class, wakeup and see the policitians who boldface lie...and wake up to the sham that Obama and McCain are.

One person can not be the savior of America, the Founding Fathers put that responsibility squarely on an INFORMED ELECTORATE. It is rediculous to expect one person to carry all that responsibility. No, wake up and carry that responsibility yourself.

Lastly, too all the folks who feal "cheated"...

Who did you expect any speaker at the DNC to "support"? Uhuh? Obama is horrible and DK knows it. The problem is, DK ran a legitmate campaign and never, never got any press after the first two debates. Why, because average Democrats/progressives/liberal were not WOKEN UP! The Democratic Party is infected and controlled by the same forces that guide the GOP. Once people "WAKE UP" and realize that fact, the candidates like DK, McKinney and Nadar could once again be the leading forces of the Democratic Party. And that will not happen until America....wakes up!

Change from Joe "AIPAC" "Master Card" Biden? Who you trying to kid Kuch? You were my last Democrat hope and you blew it. Why didn't you start a Progressive Party? Democrats are rat traitors to any progressive cause. Screw 'em.

Kucinich has demonstrated once again that he speaks to the hearts of the rank and file of the Democratic Party. He reminds us that he has earned our trust. Now we must trust him to lead. In this video he has clearly told us what we must do: put aside for now the goal of remaking the Democratic Party, and unite with the old corrupt leaders to elect Obama and stop McCain, while continuing to bring a progressive agenda and vision to the people.

He makes it clear that he sees this as urgent and absolutely necessary for preserving what remains of America's democratic institutions, for blocking the slide toward world war, and for creating an opening for building a great peoples' movement for progressive solutions to the gathering economic and ecological catastrophe. It does not mean that the struggle over the direction of the Democratic Party is over, but the direct challenge to its leadership is on hold. For the moment, it's all hands on deck to stop McCain and elect Obama.

If your heart screams out against supporting a weak and vacillating candidate with a foot in both camps, listen to Kucinich's speech again and take it in!

This situation is somewhat analogous to a struggle for democratic reforms in a corrupt union, where the company forces a strike in an effort to break the union. The leaders of the rank-and-file movement would then have to drop their struggle against the union bosses and wholeheartedly join with them, support them, against the company. They would keep pushing forward the rank and file's agenda, the one that would keep the people energized. They would watch the union bosses like a hawk and try to block them from selling out or making fatal compromises. They could expect no gratitude or favors from them when the strike was over. But they would emerge from the strike with the union intact and with stronger ties to a stronger base, ready to carry on the day-to-day fight for the members' rights and ready to fight another day for a democratic union.

So it is with us. We simply must stop McCain, to save the republic and create an opening for further struggle. We can't afford to fail. Kucinich has called the play. Now we need to get out there, put our hearts into it and make it, knowing that win or lose the struggle for America, and for a truly democratic Democratic Party, goes on past November.

Just heard this on Democracy Now! - Amy Goodman reports that the this sentence referring to republicans that Dennis had in his speech - "They're asking for 4 more years, in a just world they would get 10-20" - was "redacted" by the Obama campaign.

Dennis is not weak and is not a shill. I agree with the person who said the people need to take responsibility, too. How many of you harsh critics here have signed Dennis' impeachment petition and gotten others to, as well, written to your representative or to Conyers, or a newspaper?

I think Dennis staying within the party grows out of his commitment to the people he represents - the poor people he grew up with. I think he feels his best chance to be in a position to work for them is within the democratic party. I think we should respect that and support Dennis. We NEED his voice in congress!!!
