Sears to Start Selling Line of Official U.S. Military Garb

Sears has entered into a first-ever deal with the United States Military to market a new line of officially sanctioned, military-styled clothing to men, women and boys. The military has officially licensed a "soldier chic" line of clothing to Sears called the "All American Army Brand First Infantry Division" collection. The garb, to be launched in 550 Sears stores in October -- just in time for the holiday season -- consists of "authentic lifestyle reinterpretations" of regulation uniforms and military-issued gear like T-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, denim and other outerwear. The partnership is part of a marketing strategy to raise the public profile of the U.S. military. Sears already carries some military-themed merchandise on its Web site, like a Modern Military Figure Special Forces Soldier toy for ages 8 and up, a musical DVD titled "Death Chants, Breakdowns and Military Waltzes, Vol. 2," which lists song titles like "Cadaver Recovery Man" and "Mud & Guts," and a Self-esteem Zip Military Style Vest for Juniors.

Thought Cadaver Recovery Man was a joke,
until I clicked on links. Went to Army Times. This is for real. If you have a Sears near you, might want to tell them this is a bad idea. With school systems listening to parents and other concerned citizens wanting recruiters out of our schools, seems someone found away around that little problem.
If this doesn't beat all
I have had a Sear's card for quite some time now, and as of the last several
months I have gotten extremely agitated over the way they handle their payment
due dates - they change often from month to month, often with as much as a full
week or more's difference. As someone who pays my cards on time, this has been
a bit frustrating to say the least. It is not unusual to have little more than a week to
pay the bill without incurring their exorbitant fees. It is a racket designed to
trap people into missing due dates, no doubt about it.
This military thing is the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.
I will say enough is enough, cancel my account, and don't expect any more business
from me. You've really gone overboard with this one, Sear's.
I recommend everyone boycott Sear's and let them know why.
AJ
Well AJ you wont be
Well AJ you wont be cancelling your Sears account untill you pay it off, so instead of bitching how about paying your bill on time and dont worry about what shirts sears is selling. You know in mexico they sell children.... Why dont you move there.
This is just disgusting.
Why would Sears do this? Do they think this is "supporting our troops?" They don't seem to understand that we better support our troops when we encourage PEACE.....
Sears supports Bush's troops
Most Americans still just don't get it.
Those khaki clad hitmen running around Iraq and Afghanistan, or those soldiers in St. Paul constraining free speech, are not "OUR" troops. They are George Bush's.
Sure, you may have sons or sisters in the US military, but back in 1776 many Colonists had relatives wearing Redcoats.
No one can doubt there is a concerted effort by both criminal parties running Washington to ignore the lessons of history and, yet once again, loot and murder around the globe in aid of building empire. The individuals who loyally obey orders from such gangsters, are no better than the gullible men and women who served under Hitler or King George III.
But as long as Sears and other big corporations keep glorifying the current US military, and as long as most Americans fall for the ruse that condemning a tyrant's troops is "unpatriotic," the new empire and its carnage will endure.
Maybe it's time Adam Kokesh and friends design uniforms of their own?
Mr. Anderson By the sounds
Mr. Anderson
By the sounds of your tyrade I am assuming you are one of those "Americans" that sits at home eating your Bon Bons and watching your CNN. From the beginning of time there have been armies that have fought for one cause or another (As i see you are a soldier in the fight against our armed forces) that have followed the laws of the countries they have defended. I am a Military Veteran and am appalled at you take on what Sears is doing with Camos. My Lord man because someone sells a clothing line doesnt make them pro war.... Get a Clue and when ya find it try and locate a life. Oh yeah and do me the favor if you are ever in trouble do not Call the Police as I am a Police Officer and I would hate to have to defend you as a US Citizen.
please understand... LISTEN UP AMERICA *USA*
what this represents is the end of possi comitatus and united states constitution.
where the public is given the option to voluntarily join a group like americorps, but on a larger scale.
where the line between the US armed services and US services is created, drawn and BLURRED to disenfranchise outright the department of Defense and Congressional authority.
many for obvious reasons have not read the H.R. 393 draft resolutions - if you had, you would know that the language therein speaks to this clothing line and much worse.
As written currently, a national draft rewrites ALL the rules of the Pentagon and Congressional authority/chain of command and how it simply moves over to the Department of Homeland Security and OTHER parties.
this has been forecast.
Go USA.
_______
H. R. 393
To require *all* [men and women] persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform *national service* either as a member of the *uniformed services or in civilian service* [end of possi comitatus IN WRITING] in furtherance of the*national defense and homeland security*[no mention of congress or the department of defense], to authorize the *induction* of persons in the *uniformed services* during *wartime*[since WWII there have been legislation in effect that provisions of martial law have NOT be rescinded - this means CURRENT REAL TIME] *to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services*[armed services is TRANSFORMED into the uniformed services - roadside trash pickup is will be combined with the Army, Navy, Airforce, et.al.], to amend the *Internal Revenue Code of 1986*[bankruptcy rules of 1933 revised] *to make permanent*[1933 bankruptcy lien against all naturalized citizens to be made in perpetuity] the favorable treatment afforded combat pay under the earned income tax credit[tax talk - exceedingly relevant - usa citizenry are tax slaves to congressional bankruptcy reorganization], and for *other purposes*.[other purposes means outside of the United States Constiution and can include for foreign or corporate interests or nations or individuals]
please forward the news story with the analysis.
In a Word...
BOYCOTT!!!
great post, but Scissorfight isn't a good example
Chip, I think this is an important topic and an obnoxious, insidious thing for Sears to be pushing. I was also disgusted to see a five-minute propaganda "music video" for the military, shown before the movie at AMC theaters recently. But I don't think the Scissorfight CD makes your point. (Unless you just linked to a different item than you intended.) I'm actually surprised in the other direction, that Sears is carrying subversive "grindcore/stoner metal" who take their name from "the lesbian sexual practice called tribadism" and whose singer Ironlung was named "for his ability to take in illegal substances". It's sort of hilarious- I think the joke is on Sears on this one. Quotes from the wikipedia page on Scissorfight.
