First Anti-War Protest After the Election of Barack Obama
When: Wednesday, November 5th, 5:30 pm
Where: Federal Building, 26 Federal Plaza, lower Manhattan
The first protest of U.S. occupations in the Middle East after the election of president-elect Obama will take place in New York City on Wednesday.
Veterans of the war, military families, and anti-war activists opposed to the U.S. war in the Middle East will protest the Bush administration's recent air strikes on Syria, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, and the documented killing of civilians by US forces in those strikes. They say they will challenge the assumption that Obama is an "anti-war" candidate by enumerating his "pro-war" policies.
"Obama promises to move combat troops and contractors from Iraq into Afghanistan, calling it "the good war." He promises an increase of the US military by 90,000. He advocates US strikes into the sovereign country of Pakistan. This is not the time to wait and see if Barack Obama will end the war, as most people hope he will do, but to demand it. It is the time to think not as Americans, but as people who care about the planet," said Debra Sweet, of The World Can't Wait.
Elaine Brower, whose son is a Marine in Iraq, said, "After two tours of duty in Iraq, and one in Afghanistan, my son and I have had enough of the games being played with the lives of others by this government. The Iraqi people want us out now, not in two years, but immediate and complete withdrawal of all US forces inside their country. The people of this country did and always will have the moral responsibility to rise up and demand an end to the 'war of terror' being carried out in our names."

Hold Obama's Feet to the Fire...this is the WAR of TERROR, not the WAR on Terror....and we are willingly or not the perpetrators of this right now.
Lets get one thing clear. He needs to investigate 911--SEPTEMBER 11TH 2001--before he goes to invade anything. There are way too many ? ? ? question marks regarding 911. For instance, was the whole thing an inside job--for BIG business, and strategic domination authorized by our military? ...a black ops project? Who were the real perpetrators? Why are some of the so called terrorists still alive? Is Osama even alive at this point? More than half of the 911 Commision is blacked out. We need to know what that report says...Wait...let me say it again--WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT THAT REPORT SAID, THEN HAVE ANOTHER, more [REAL], authentic INVESTIGATION. Then lets get em....the terrorists, whether foreign or domestic should be convicted, and punished. If they turn out to be corporate BIG Wigs, or US officials, then they should be convicted of TREASON, and made an example of.
