I realize the whole
I realize the whole "canceled 2 flights on sabotage suspicion" (an exaggeration, but let's ignore that for now) is supposed to lend credence to the idea he was assassinated, but to me it makes it sound unlikely. What are the odds they would attempt to kill him three separate times by sabotaging his plane? Are we meant to suppose the Bush Administration used some particularly stubborn hitmen who decided the third time would be the charm?
Quite the contrary ...
From the article, it doesn't sound like the two previous attempts got off the runway. If he had managed to, he might have been dead much earlier. The only difference the third time seems to be that no problems were detected before takeoff ... He was an avid pilot flying at optimal weather conditions at the time of his crash ...
Given the amount of evident corruption these long few years, and the lack of shame in their denial, I find assassination to be quite credible, as I also believe it to be the case in the D.C. Madam case. However, if it were the case that he was assassinated, this time the one who was assassinated showed no signs that he was anything but a party loyalist.
