Re "Jeb Bush for President", reality and doubt
By luaptifer, ePluribus Media
Dear George H. W. Bush (affectionately, '41'),
Regarding
"FOXNews - Sunday, January 04, 2009: The first President Bush said he would like to see his other son, Jeb, become president one day, but if now's not the time he'd be an "outstanding senator."
"...During an interview on "FOX News Sunday," the nation's 41st president said Jeb, the former governor of Florida, is "as qualified and as able as anyone I know in the political scene" to be president."
Absolutely, 41, absolutely! But first I hope you can be patient enough to help America address a couple of niggling doubts.
Thanks George, I expect nothing less than that you'll be gracious in response.
First, there is the question of feasibility: Is it realistic to consider a campaign for Jeb without Bush dynasty guru and information technology master, the late Mike Connell, managing the electrons?
Sure, Karl Rove's still around but he's so direct-mail, while Connell was the man who translated Karl's knowledge into the Information Age. Are you considering this factor?
You may remember Mike from as far back as your 1987 campaign organization. He was the guy whom your team promoted after the Iowa Caucus--taking him to Washington where he designed the database for the Republican National Convention that cycle.
He then went on to implement the campaign sites Jeb.org and GeorgeWBush.com, and then RNC.org and RPOF.org--while also working inside the State of Florida IT networks when Al Gore was disputing Dubya's right to the throne, er, White House.
And then Mike Connell also ran all of those House, Senate, House Committee, and Executive Agency sites, while he again ran KenBlackwell.com, GeorgeWBush.com, OhioGOP.org, and Election.sos.state.oh.us the night that Dubya fought off Kerry's non-dispute of the throne.
And dang, how could I forget the White House and RNC email systems!?
So I just want to be sure that you understand that the guy who was behind Karl Rove back then is not there now.
[FYI 41, a quick heads-up in case you're not in the loop. Mike Connell died in a plane crash a couple of weeks ago and your family seems to have forgotten the guy who was so important to putting three of you into Executive Offices over the last quarter of a century. No doubt Mike's family would appreciate a kind word or two.]

jeb bush ran florida into the ground. ask anyone who has ever lived there. he was the worst governor they ever had. the united states cannot afford a third bush, the first two was a disaster for this country. no jobs and job losses, no building or construction, no gdp growth usually negitive.
