President George W. Bush and Vice President Richard Cheney have illegally seized powers that belong to the legislative branch, broken U.S. laws by spying on American citizens without court approval and international laws by allowing the torture of war prisoners. The Progressive Caucus asserts that the President and Vice President have committed the following offenses:
• Intentionally misleading Congress and the public regarding the threat from Iraq in order to justify the war, violating the federal anti-conspiracy statute and the False Statements Accountability Act.
• Ordering the National Security Agency to conduct electronic surveillance of American citizens without seeking warrants from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review, as required by law.
• Torturing of war prisoners, violating the "Federal Torture Act" Title 18 United States Code, Section 113C and the UN Torture Convention and the Geneva Convention, which are U.S. law under Article VI of the U.S. Constitution.
• Ordering indefinite detention without access to legal counsel, without charge, and without the opportunity to appear before a civil judicial officer to challenge the detention, all in violation of U.S. law and the Bill of Rights.
These offenses will be discussed at the forum, along with a strategy to bring impeachment charges through state rather than federal channels.

Great! Now DO something!
Hi -
I'm 100% behind you, and think it's great you're having this meeting. Now... what will this meeting do? There will be a bunch of people sitting in a room, agreeing. The time for this is over. If you honestly think Bush has broke the law, it's your consitutional duty to replace him. Physically. Before one more human being (be they Iraqi, Iranian, American, or whatever) dies by Bush's hand, you should actually DO something. Meetings don't win wars, and we're in a war. Actions win wars.
When you have a meeting to talk about the revolution, I'll be there. Until then, you're wasting time and money.
great! now do something!
the revolution won't start any time soon. sitting on your hands and saying i'm waiting for action is an excuse to do nothing! if nothing else this is a chance to get together organize, strategize, and network (nothing happens if the R's retain congress). there is still plenty of work to be done before getting rid of bush. what happens if we get cheney, that would be worse. k_mac
Absolutely....
I remember when President Carter was in the thick of it with Iran and I swore I would never again support a Democrat. Well, Ronald Reagan, George Sr. and Little George have changed all that. It would have to be an extraordinary set of circumstances for me to vote Republican ever again. But Big Boots, Little Hat has done one thing for this country that it has desperately needed for some time and that is getting the silent majority back to the polls and involved in the process again. I am not sitting on my hands and waiting, but opportunity must exist to do anything substantial. I recommend getting involved with the Democratic Party as soon as you possibly can.
Stop the Neoconservatives!
The sad truth is that a Republican Congress(the most corrupt in history)is not going to impeach George Bush.
In the upcoming election I will not vote for any Republican, and I know there are many other voters like me.
If Democrats win back Congress,I expect real investigations on the crimes of George Bush and the Neoconservatives.
We must make sure this election is fair(no paperless ballots or Republican Corp.counting ballots)
I will campaign for change. It's time for a New Deal.
I agree with Anonymous,we need action,we are at War with the Neoconservatives.
We cannot fail to remove the Neoconservatives from office.
(I'd rather go hunting with Dick Cheney)
