John McCain is planning to run as a different kind of Republican. But being any kind of Republican seems like some sort of death sentence these days.

In case you’ve been too consumed by the Democratic race to notice, Republicans are getting crushed in historic ways both at the polls and in the polls.

At the polls, it has been a massacre. In recent weeks, Republicans have lost a Louisiana House seat they had held for more than two decades and an Illinois House seat they had held for more than three. Internal polls show that next week they could lose a Mississippi House seat that they have held for 13 years.

Futile attempts at Impeachment are hampered because the Supreme Court is loaded with Republicans and there would never be a two-thirds vote necessary in Congress.
The same holds true for perusing a War Crimes trial for the use of depleted Uranium banned by all international conventions.
However, using the RICO laws may be the answer.
The Bush family is an ongoing criminal enterprise starting with the Nazi banker Senator Prescott Bush and ending with Neil Bush being granted the Ok to participate in a microchip venture with the Chinese which was forbidden by law to everyone until Neil Bush wanted profits from it.
All that is necessary for the RICO laws to be enforced and seize all Bush family assets and holdings and prevent them from ever entering office again would be a few simple provable ties and links.

Whereas, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was the guest of a Kansas law school two years ago and went on a hunting trip arranged by the school's dean within weeks of hearing two cases in which the dean was a lead attorney.

Whereas, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and one of his children were guests of the Vice President on Air Force Two and then went hunting with the Vice President, shortly after the Supreme Court agreed to hear an appeal of a decision against the Vice President.

Whereas, Federal law provides that any justice shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might be questioned.

Whereas, the American Bar Association Code of Judicial Conduct provides in Canon 1 that a judge shall uphold the integrity and independence of the judiciary and, in Canon 2, that a judge shall avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety in all of the judge's activities.

I think it is very fair to say that a substantially significant portion of America wishes congress to not only bring, but also actually vote on Articles of Impeachment for President Bush, and Vice President Richard Cheney.

So far, congress has been hilariously inept on this issue of immediate importance. Petitions have been signed, protests have been organized, and the people are hungry. They are hungry to see these two war criminals tried for their horrendous lack of regard for the will of the people they swore on God to represent.

I believe more drastic measures need to be tried to get something done. As the people, we hold more power than anyone dares to realize. When people suffer, someone is sure to listen. Do not call them 'jihadists': US clamps down on words of the anti-terror campaign

WASHINGTON - Do not call them jihadists any more.

Also, do not call al-Qaida a movement.

The Bush administration has launched a new front in the campaign against terrorism, this time targeting language.

Federal agencies, including the State Department, the Homeland Security Department and the National Counterterrorism Center, are telling their people not to describe Islamic extremists as "jihadists" or "mujahedeen," according to documents obtained by The Associated Press. Such verbiage as "Islamo-fascism" is out, too.

The reason: Such words may actually boost support for radicals among Arab and Muslim audiences by giving them a veneer of religious credibility or by causing offense to moderates.

For all of you who believe that Impeach-ment is the only option prior to the coming election, let me throw something else out there. With all of the information regarding Abu Ghraib, Quantanamo, 9/11 and so forth, do you really believe that we, as Americans, can make a difference by Impeaching a President with less than a year in office?
The time is over for that option. The Pres, VP, et. al. must be held accountable by trial for Treason, and usurpation of the principles that this country was founded upon. We must put these conspirators on trial and end this Tyranny. NOW!

While speaking at the recent Nueces County Republican convention, Chairman Mike Bertuzzi began naming people as delegates who had not qualified at the local precinct level, and relegating people who HAD qualified at the local level to alternate delegate status. An unquestionable violation of the rules, and clear evidence of nefarious manipulation of the electoral process.

One person after another stood to call a point of order (until it seemed like at least half the room was doing it), in an effort to get clarification and correct the problem. Bertuzzi COMPLETELY IGNORED ALL OF THEM, as if they weren't even there.

At least one local paper described these people, who actually WERE acting fully within the rules, as a group that was trying to "take over the convention."

This "Memorial Petition" regarding Rep John Conyers, Chairman of the House Committee on the Judiciary goes on to state that the United Nations Charter "prohibits the use of military force" against any nation without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, which never approved the invasion of Iraq.

Also, the invasion of Iraq was not in compliance with House Joint Resolution 114 "Authorization to Use Military Force" in that the "most critical WHEREAS clauses" were not complied with, including the provision that "(d) Nothing in this Joint Resolution..(1) is intended to alter..the provision of existing treaties (UN Charter).

I can't even enunciate how I feel about this; it is just one of those "what the fuck is this country coming to" moments. Seriously, the President of the USA is on a low-level, moranic game show in order to show his 'support' of the troops?!!

New Hampshire's HR24 has NOT been defeated. Despite it's being tabled last Wednesday ( http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080417/FRONTP... ), Betty Hall remains entirely optimistic. The attached article in The Concord Monitor by Lauren Dorgan states that the measure is essentially killed by the tabling and further states that a 2/3 majority vote would be needed to bring it back to debate on NH state house floor. My understanding is that a only SIMPLE majority is needed to bring it back to debate. We are checking this out with the Rules Committee chair.

In this country, there is a common misunderstanding of the proper relationship between our elected representative government, and the people that it serves. Most people have accepted the notion that the Constitution not only governs the structure of government, but that it places limitations on the rights of the people as well. This is only partially correct, and mostly wrong.

When our Constitutional government is operating properly, it means the checks and balances are working. The stated goals of the people (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness) are being met. And most importantly, the individuals that We the People have delegated authority upon to act on our behalf, our elected representatives, are adhering to their Sworn Oaths of Office. But this is not the case. On the contrary.

Since 9/11, and frankly for a great deal longer than that, the majority of individuals in our government have gone out of their way to defy the will of the people and to flaunt their utter disregard for the rule of law. They have corrupted the integrity of their Offices, stained the reputation of the United States, and laid waste to our Constitutional protections and procedures.

Now it might seem that all is lost and that there is no remedy for our plight. However if you consider the words of our original founding document, that being the Declaration of Independence, then there is cause for optimism.
